Dictionary of Education

Rate this book
Like every profession, education has its own jargon-that special language of words peculiar to itself, and of everyday words used in peculiar ways. Even people within the profession may be uneasy about terms used by people in branches other than their own, and certainly the newcomer or "interested layman" can be completely flummoxed. This book will help anyone who is trying to make sense of educational discussions-students and teachers, but also administrators and parents, and employees. "A Dictionary of Education" includes terms which may puzzle English speakers and whose meaning is not immediately apparent from the context. There are brief entries on numerous well-known educationalists, and the select bibliography amplifies certain entries on controversial or complex topics.
