Maddy and Selina are inseparable; they are best friends. As they go from playing with dolls to seducing at discos, Selina becomes beautiful and desirable, but she is also cruelly jealous of Maddy - her blonde hair, her talent, and any attention given to her.
On leaving school, promiscuous Selina waits tables and develops a taste for drugs whilst Maddy becomes a successful clothes designer and falls in love for the first time. But it's still the same old whatever Maddy has, Selina will destroy.
