Greg Laurie brings us along on a walk with Jesus and his disciples, encouraging us to see him through the eyes of his disciples in order to know him better, challenging us firsthand with the main spiritual lessons Jesus entrusted to his followers, and inspiring us with the many promises that the Savior gave to those who choose to follow him. As we walk with Jesus, hopefully we, too, will come to see Jesus as his disciples as a living, breathing, ever-present friend, mentor, and teacher.

I generally take notes on the books I read, but not usually daily devotional books. This one had so many great lessons that about day 20, I decided I needed to be taking notes, so I went back to the beginning of the book and ended up with 60 pages of notes!!
The reason I deemed this daily devotional worthy of note-taking was Greg Laurie's profound observation on day 13 (page 45). He reminds us of Luke 9:28-29 when Jesus took Peter, John, and James up to the mountain to pray, and while they were there, how the appearance of Jesus' face was altered and His robe became white and glistening. It is what Greg said about that moment that had me thinking and not wanting to forget it: "We might think that the great miracle was that Jesus' appearance was altered into its true, glorious state. But that was not the miracle. The real wonder what was happened all the other days when Jesus did NOT shine like the sun...The great miracle of Jesus was that, on a daily basis, He veiled His glory."
Reading this book will unveil Jesus to you more and more each day that you pick it up.
I have been reading this book for months, but not because it's boring. It's a daily devotional and has 84 days worth of material. It's meant to be read in the morning during personal time with Jesus, hence the name. What I did instead was put it in the bathroom and read it anytime I was in there for more than a few seconds. Worked well for me. It's the only place I'm alone in this house so I could really concentrate on what I read.
I've read a few devotionals but this has been the best so far. I don't think I even reviewed the others or even read all the entries. I liked that they were numbered instead of set for certain days. If I didn't read any one day, I wasn't missing anything and I always new where I was next thanks to my bookmark. Plus if you buy it in the middle of the year, you aren't starting the book halfway through.
I'm not sure how to explain it but I just really felt all the devotional messages were just what I needed to hear and made me feel good. They were well written and Highly Recommended.
Exceptional. That's about it. My suggestion is to use each chapter as your daily devotional. I've read it three times to date. It's an instant classic.
I would strongly recommend. His use of scripture to life application drew me in to better understand that life is made whole through Jesus Christ, our Savior. I chose to read one day at a time
Last third of the book was probably the most meaningful for me. I think a lot of his conclusions are more opinion based than fact. Also, I kept calling the book Jesus for Breakfast in fits of momentary misremembrance.
