Second Edition 2013While cleaning out the drawers of her recently deceased grandmother’s dresser, Anna Kippling finds a skeleton key that ironically only opens one door and from the wrong side. On the other side, instead of the small staircase leading down to the second floor, Anna finds another world awaiting her, a world her grandmother calls Tatania among other strange entries written inside a journal Anna finds inside an old steamer trunk in the attic. After deciding to venture into this foreign land, Anna quickly finds herself in hostile territory. A Chancellor wants her dead and others believe she is the chosen one. A grey eyed, blonde hunk named Hayden rescues her, but he also sends Anna's stomach into knots and her knees close to buckling.Amongst romance and an ominous threat of a Chancellor looming over her, Anna also finds herself in situations she would have never fathomed to happen upon. Along with fighting abnormally large birds, hiding in magical tree trunks, and eating magical beads, she also must try to rescue an Empress. With a necklace of invisibility, a time turning bracelet and a dagger, this is still no easy task for her and Anna doesn’t need her newly acquired Book of Answers to figure that either. It seems in this world, nothing is ever simple here for Anna Kippling, but she is also slowly learning nothing is impossible either; not even for her. How far would you go to reach your potential? How much would you sacrifice for love? And… is it possible to outwit death?Second Edition 2013

Well hello there... my name is A.D. Duling... Ok, I don't exacly go by A.D., but I'm pretty confident it will take you at least three tries to guess my first name. Obviously I am an author. I call my self an author/writer because I love writing books. What I fill them with is the more fun! Magic, the paranormal, adventure and of course romance can be found within my chapters.

Sometimes its fun living in fantasy rather than reality, don't you agree?

When I'm not writing, I'm reading, taking care of my six kids (yes, that wasn't a typo) can say seven if you add my hubby, our three dogs, two cats and five guinea pigs. Whew!

So how did a gal like me get into writing? Well,I loved reading books about werewolves, vampires and every other supernatural creature, so of course I had to write about them too (not in that exact order of course). For now, I am what you would call an "Indie" author. I of many have adventured into the self-publishing world in order to share my imagination with you.

I love writing. I love creating the worlds in them and the stories within those worlds. What I love more than that,is sharing them with others in hopes to bring that same enjoyment I recieved by reading great books by other authors.

I appreciate your time in getting to know me and would love to connect with you. I am open to advice, comments and critiques from all my readers. I also appreciate your purchase of one or more of my books and encourage you to take more chances on other Indie authors.

Okay so I love the premise of the book of another world. I find a lot of it unimaginative though a lot of things are the same as are world even the name of things. If it was truely another world I would expect another written language and names of plants that grow on earth that I wouldnt expect another plant or world to have let alone the name of the plant unless the two species grew closely together or were once one speices.
A lot of the speech was awkward in the book as well when they spoke with emotion the writer would use an exclamation. and some of the conversation could have been worded better to relay that emotion to the reader.
I found simple typos in the book about ten throughout the story not many but for a piblished book thats too many. It made some of the sentences awkward and had to be reread or deciphered from using could instead of couldn't whiched relayed wrong info to the reader. I would fire the editor if the writer has one atleast have someone else read it if they do t to check awkwardness or spelling errors
Also there are no paragraph indents making it straight without breakages.
JUST FAIR WARNING TO COMPLAINING GRAMMAR NAZIS.
DESPITE ALL THE PROBLEMS THE BOOK WAS WONDERFUL.
I can look past the writing and enjoy the great story the writer has given. I believe this writer has potential.

I will buy the rest of this story as it comes out I like Anna kipplings character but I'm more intrigued with Hayden her love interest. I would like to know more about the transition from our world to theirs or a prequel about how the grandmother found earth and the grandfather.
The story is a little bland but great for a first published book not everyone is grade AAA in the beginning.
Hats off I wanna read the rest.

The Key begins in our world following 17-year-old Anna Kippling one week after the death of her grandmother. As she and her mother pack away her grandmother’s belongings, Anna finds a peculiar key and sets off to find out what it opens, leading to the discovery of a world called Tatania a world she had heard of in her grandmother’s journal. Anna soon learns that her arrival was expected in Tatania and that the Chancellor wants her dead.

I found Anna to be a believable character. She is slightly unsure of herself and has a bit of an attitude, but is smart and sassy. Thrust in an uncertain situation with a lot on her shoulders, she acts how I would expect her to. She’s not perfect, yet still a strong character, and I found that refreshing. I would have liked the pace to be a tad slower when she arrives in Tatania, if only to have more time to watch her relationships develop more with the other characters.

There are a few typographical errors and a couple of homophone mix-ups (vial instead of vile, for example), but nothing major.

The Key drew me in immediately and kept me there until the end with a good storyline and characters I care about.
