Thomas Kinkade was known as the "Painter of Light." His works, although spurned by the secular art establishment, were very popular with Christians and many others.
Randomly picked this book up at a cottage I was staying at and was immediately bored and didn't want to continue but I did, and ended up finishing the book in a day. It is not a book I would typically read - I'm not much of an artist, I'm not particularly religious but the book ended up touching me and it definitely did what it was intended to do - it inspired me. Yes there are religious references and although it reads somewhat of a self help book, I actually really appreciated the author's individual style. I ended up finishing it and ending it with a sense of excitement, my head filled with ideas of how I can be more intentional with my own creativity.
Thomas Kinkade not only sparks and inspires creativity through his paintings, but his writing pieces as well. This book completely rewired the way I look at creativity; awakening my sense of adventure and creative desire each time I picked up the book. I had been praying for direction and vision leading up to reading this, and God completely used this book to steer me in the direction I’m supposed to go. Cannot recommend enough!
If you want more creativity in your life but are not certain how to make it happen reading this world could turn your mind in new directions. Thomas Kinkade's mindset and passion for art could awake yours.
This is a great book for any creative to read -- artist, writer, actor, musician, and the list goes on. So much wonderful insight and helpful tips that I took notes as I read. Even if you don't care for Kinkade's art work or were disappointed over the turn of events in his life, everything he shares in this book is worth the read.
