Hockey war für sie bisher immer das Wichtigste auf der ganzen Welt … bis sich ihre Wege kreuzten.
Alles, was Keenan Avali will, ist Eishockey spielen.
[Komplette Serie].
N.J. Lysk (pronouns: whatever) is a queer one—in almost every sense of the word—for whom stories have always been their one true home. She studied linguistics and literature (which is to say, someone offered him a genuine excuse to read professionally) and ended up teaching, but writing is their one true love.
Addicted to angst, enamoured of mpreg and always ready to try a new kink (in a book, that’s it!) she became hooked into the Omegaverse through fanfic (but he doesn't have the patience to write other people's characters) and has recently expanded from werewolves to hockey players.

Glorious final installment thank you thank you. Finally Carry cracked and the only option he had was to offer Keenan his heart. I cried, I wanted to stand on a chair and waving a flag, a rainbow flag to be specific!!! Yahhhh To be honest, in the back of my head I was afraid and never thought this would ever happen, but finally. Dear, dear Keenan, at last, he could hold his omega. *sob* I had so much respect for him.
I swear I could smell them like they could. It made me delirious. I felt so much compassion for Keenan, even with Carry in his arms he was so unsure and cautious when Carry opened his mouth. He had a fear of saying or doing the wrong thing. Afraid Carry would... he didn’t know what, but it would shatter him.
Still, it isn’t easy, they just started and have to learn about the other and their relationship. Carry is complicated, vulnerable, afraid for many reasons and wary about his person. They have a long difficult way to go, both know it will be worth as long as they are together.
For me, this was the best story about alpha’s, omega’s, mates, and especially the aspect ‘scent’, the scent of the ocean and sand, caramel and candied apples. It was EVERYTHING. Also, this story has one of the most complicated characters I ever read about, the shields levels were so intense. The author did a tremendously good job. The story was strongly consistent and because of that, it felt reliable, acceptable, realistic and last but not least immensely entertaining.
It didn’t end exactly as I hoped, but it was an ending. I found that the author had a tendency in this installment to go on tangents that never really worked their way back around to the original point. This is especially true when it came to dynamics and level of experience. That was unbelievably frustrating. I was actually hoping for a bit more variety in the spice, but it wasn’t bad. Carry has major hangups in this episode too, not that it’s surprising, but there is a point where Keenan wonders what in his past brought about those hang ups and they aren’t ever really addressed.
The omega rights revolution stuff was limited in this episode, but it was by far my favorite part. It’s worth reading to finish the serial, but it was only meh for me overall.
It's post season and the time apart is proving difficult. When Carry gets some advice from a new doctor about how to control his Heats it opens his eyes to new possibilities, possibilities that include a relationship with Keenan. Now they just have to admit their love for each other and get past their tumultuous relationship history. As the last episode in this series it highlights how we need to see outside the box of societal norms and allow people to just be. It's been a joy to read this series.

So much heat that has gathered throughout the rest of this series FINALLY explodes in so much steam the pages seem to take on fire! The wariness about just what allowing love to shine gradually, through contemplated dialogue between the protagonists. The strength to go against traditions can be found, not keeping each one to themself, but sustaining one another. The fear that one or the other would try to dominate the relationship has been the main problem, but coming to an agreement means finally finding the best alternative to this omegaverse society's expectations - with the beginnings of a new cultural revolution. This is how how it would be to witness the beginning of so many of the great changes that the last two or three generations in our real world would be - witness to the strengths of those pioneers who dared to dare. The end is only the beginning.
With Carry's email to Keenan, it seems Carry is working to break out of his shell for one man but what is Keenan willing to put up with when it comes to love? Thomas is the helping hand or sounding board for Carry in his time of need, but even a beta can't really help with mixed feeling of Carry's views of what is important to him. Seeing is believing for Carry and Keenan to find their way to happiness. A wonderful ending to a new beginning.
