This is a harrowing true story. It may be a warning to some, and an inspiration to others who are going through similar domestic violence. Not an easy read.
This is no way a reference to the story itself. I am not commenting or contesting the woman's story and the score is not about the events themselves. It's strictly from a writing perspective that I write this review. I did not like this book. It seems to be the journal of a traumatized person trying to piece together their memories and feelings. It's what's usually done in order to heal. I get that and I respect the work. But at the same time, from an editorial point of view, this did not need to hit the shelves.
A hard hitting story, but definitely not what I was expecting. I couldn't look past the spelling mistakes, even if that is very juvenile of me. It's a book I'd recommend for passive reading, but if you're looking to really get an insight as to what someone's life is like, there's better out there.
