Gabrielle Evans grew up in a small town in southern Oklahoma. We’re talking one red light that may or may not work depending on the day of the week. She married her high school sweetheart and the rest is pretty much history. They have two very active boys and one high-strung wiener dog that keeps her constantly on the go. For now, Gabrielle parks her car in north-central Texas, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.
This book started off on Echo's housemates had been kidnapped. So he tried to find a way to save them, then he discovered that vampires were behind this plan. Onyx liked to play D/s.He was convinced Echo couldn't fit for his fantasies, actually it's not like that, hence Echo tried so hard to be that guy for him. Although the sex scenes were extremely hot,but I felt a bit off like nothing happened.
I know my problem with this book. The previous ones always focus on the war against Ares, this one doesn't like those, because of the issues Echo and his lovers tried to solve not related to their task on the new moon at all.
This seventh volume, as expected, focuses on Onyx and Echo’s relationship. For once, the majority of the book isn’t concerned with the demon’s test in the war against Ares. Instead, the focus is firmly on Onyx and his needs, how they relate to Echo and the other mates, as well as the entire building group dynamic between all eight men and their ‘houseguests.
Onyx has always felt like the odd demon out. He doesn’t want to admit it, but that has made him feel isolated on occasion. Even though the others do their best to give him what he needs, none of them depend on submitting like Onyx depends on dominating. Until Echo comes along and is able to admit that he doesn’t only submit to make Onyx happy, but actually has a need that is the complement to Onyx’s.
Through these two battling it out as well as some pretty scary outside intrusions and events, it becomes clear that this is no longer just about individual demons getting tested. The whole group is being challenged and scrutinized – as a group. They will either be found wanting or worthy at the end of it. With only one more ‘individual test’ to go, the final war is now getting uncomfortably close. I can’t wait for the final two volumes.
It was more serious - so not as funny as the others.
I also felt that this story was 70% Onyx and 30% Myst. I would have liked to of seen a bit more time spent on Onyx's change of heart. One second he was OMG Im so alienated and the next everything was fine...I thought there could of been a bit more angst.
typical gabrielle evans serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical gabrielle evans? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : sunny day lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
just ok, didn't care for the bdsm all of sudden now, taking over the story. And they still have not helped the others held in the lab that started in book One. Maybe if Echo kept his pants on long enough they might be able to help them, like they say they want to. (I have found that I can't read them back to back in one sitting, cause Echo and the others get on my nerves)
Getting darker preparing for the end. Actually as I think about it, the sex and the fights are getting darker, harder and bloody, but the overall story arc didn't really seem to move at all. It feels the the author is just continually putting a new dress on the same plot device.
7 демонов и один маленький Эхо. Тут еще и БДСМ чуток присутствует. Начинает раздражать серия из-за того, что практически ничего не происходит, кроме трынь-трынь. Можно было все в одну книгу уместить.
