This book explains how future search conferences -- where people with a stake in an organization gather to generate creative strategies -- can be most effective.
An approach to problem solving in organizations that will totally alienate some while, perhaps, help others. I had an executive director at a place I used to work who bought into this 100 percent, but I must say, it's a stretch. It requires a lot of money and effort to pull off a Future Search. The underlying principles, though, of the search are valid and psychologically based. To run a Future Search, you also need to go to a training--I don't think you can get a full sense of it just from this book.
Totally awesome idea. I'm pretty confident it will execute well. Don't need to be sold on the idea through the WHOLE book, only in the intro & first couple of chapters. Wait . . . is this a scam bc they are still selling to me in the 9th chapter & haven't told me the logistics yet? um. . . . doubtful. Seems great. xx fx
What would happen if stakeholder was invited to being in the room at the same time to work to solve a problem? Sounds simple, and it is, providing that an organization was willing to think outside of the box when considering organizational change. Lots of interesting, useful and timely materials included within this text.
