Paroled to a dairy farm, a 15-year-old slowly develops an interest in the farm and its animals and through this exposure acquires the strength to resist the influence of old friends.
Walt Morey was an award-winning author of numerous works of children's fiction set in the U.S. Pacific Northwestand Alaska, the places where Morey lived for all of his life. His book Gentle Ben was the basis for the 1967 movie Gentle Giant and the 1967-1969 television show Gentle Ben.
He wrote a total of 17 published books, most of which involve as a central plot element the relationship between man and animals. Many of his works involve survival stories, or people going into the wild to "discover" themselves; redemption through nature is a common theme of Morey's works.
Proč jsem si koupil Young adult knížku o dojení krav a koz z roku 50 let před Playstationem je mi záhadou. Asi mě zmátla Young Adult kategorie na PornHubu, kde jsou též kozy.
No a tímto bych tuto vyčerpávající literární recenzi asi ukončil. Snad Vám to lidičky pomůže při rozhodování zda knihu číst či nikoliv. Jsem rád, že jsem mohl pomoci.

When a flood comes, and he meets up with one of his former gang members Dan must undertake a dangerous mission…
My thoughts: Weel this is a book by my favorite author Walt Morey, so not much can go wrong with this book. I really liked the character growth in this book, watching Dan change from a confused kid to a smart, easygoing young adult was very satisfying. I also liked that it was slightly longer than other books by this author, with 166 pg and very small words.
If there were more stars, I could give this truly worthwhile read, a 10 if not more.
About a fifteen year old boy named Dan, who happens to be on parole. Having grown up in the city, being sent to live on a dairy farm, was the absolute pits. However, as you will read, the Edwards family gives Dan a home to keep.
A key sentence in the book to be remembered was: "You'll like it if you become interested, if you let yourself become involved in the activities here."
Dan is a juvenile, convicted of driving a getaway car and placed in a farm home for a year. Many adventures ensue. The book is about a 15-year-old but is more appropriate for middle grade. Dan is too good to be true. Otherwise the book is an interesting read, easy to read and would be enjoyed by middle graders.
After enjoying Walt Morey's "Canyon Winter" I have moved on to his "Angry Waters". I'm not sure what possessed me, but both titles popped out and grabbed my attention on one of our regular visits to Cannon Beach, and its great little book store on the main drag. It's been a long time since I have dove into a young adult" title, but this work by Walt Morey has proven to be quite entertaining and I don't hesitate recommending it...to readers "young" and otherwise!
Walt Morey.. not only does he write an interesting animal story well, he writes heart into it. I love the characters he introduces you to, the animals-and he knows of what he writes, is a good way to put it down simply.:) Very happy he had this story line set on a dairy farm-not only a nice variation from his Alaskan wilds, (which I do love, love!), but more close to heart I guess, being as I live on a farm myself.:) The conflict and self-sacrifice which his young man encounters while trying to break ties from his old gang, is well molded.
