Wow! What a great book for a first time author! I guess it helps to be a Dr. to be able to write a Medical Thriller!

If you like books that have everything, than this book is for you. You have 3 love stories, multiple murder attempts by different people, some successful and others not so successful.
You get to see what ‘Power’ does to a person when it is mixed with politics and with money!
You always want one person on your side no matter what, and this book gives you several of those, some who wear white coats and some who don’t.
This certainly is a page turner that you don’t want to put down.

To Convoluted

This book should have been divided into more than one book. Was hard to keep track of the characters and they didn’t stick out to me. One assassin is good but two, way more than story needed. Story line was good but to many people introduced.

Nothing really to recommend this book. It's political intrigue before that genre became as popular as it is today. Also written before the splash of eBook authors. Really needed the assistance and suggestions of a good editor. A whole chapter about a major character and his impotence when he's with his wife, who happens to be a nypho?

Readers of this genre can find better work.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Many characters with different plot twists. Very distracting were:
typos
missing words
incorrect usage of words
They really needed a final review.

This could have been five stars. It was an exciting read with good writing and a good plot. However, the scenes have to move the plot forward and not distract from it. Obviously the writer has a strong medical background, ( he’s a surgeon) but the chapter of a character’s inability to have an erection with his wife or the chapter about the senator’s hypnosis for example, although interesting, go into too much detail and take the plot off course. At times like this, the book seemed like a collection of vignettes. The author has much potential but needs to keep minor character’s backgrounds to a minimum.

If the first 3/4's of this book were as good as the last 1/4, I would give it 4 stars, very good. Unfortunately I found the first part of this bogged down in too many backstories of too many characters. I just wanted the author to get to the point. Some of the backstories had no relevance to the story at hand, which was someone wanted to murder the President. If you don't mind spending hours reading descriptions of characters background, you will love this book. I loved the ending scenes. It was very thrilling and had me unable to put the book down. Three stars read for me.

To political for fiction

I read a book to escape from the stress of everyday life. I understand every book has a percentage of politic but they tend to veer away from the more contentious politic's or at least hide it better. This is not so. He is screaming it constantly in your face as if that is far more important than the story.

Quit less than a third of the way through. Started off with promise but then too many characters and side stories crept in to cause distraction. In one line a character was referred to by their first name. In the next line by their last name. I finally gave up! Good idea for a book but still needs too much editing.

Excellent Read

I found this story extremely interesting and I couldn't wait to get back to it after putting it down. He goes in-depth into all the characters so you really feel and understand why each person reacts as they did. Kept me wanting to continue reading constantly.

An Action Filled Tale

Mystery and action held my attention so well that I found it hard to put this book down. At first it was difficult to understand how all the characters would come together, but Derrick Woodbury did a great job of weaving this story.

Deception

A wonderful book on the precarious life of the President of the United States. There are many characters in the book with everything coming together at the end. I think most would enjoy reading this book.

The President Lives

An excellent book with the very methods of medical science explained easily on how they interact with the story. Truly a detective novel in a different format. One that is believable and a pleasure to read.

Much too complicated with too many story lines. It was difficult to keep everything and everyone together.

good premise and some interesting characters. however, too many loose ends for a satisfactory conclusion.

It was interesting, but why a whole bunch of pages to impotence - somewhat confusing with all the characters. Yes, indeed, hospitals are not secure places - but this was a little too much.

Not much for political novels, but this one is very good. Plots exceptional, characters great, mysteries even better.

What a wonderful ride

The author has written a wonderful story of politics, romance and
mystery. Several different threads woven to come together at the climax masterfully. Honestly, you have to pay close attention to all the characters in order to keep track of who's who as the story develops but you will be entranced as it all comes together.

Great read

Secret plots, presidential issues, who is behind the attempt to kill the president and will they succeed. The president is in a fight for his life in more ways than one.
