From the author of Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road comes a collection of seven comical essays about bathroom emergencies. Award-winning humorist Diana Estill shares her family's funniest colonic a marathon race cut short by "bubble gut," a snorkel trip ruined by a Caribbean buffet, and a "hell burger" that defended its title against her normally demure daughter-in-law, and more. Stranded without wipes when only a fire hose could do the job, each victim gains more than renewed appreciation for indoor plumbing. Anyone who's ever suffered a case of "traveler's trots" or been brought to his knees by the lack of porcelain will relate to these tales of digestive disasters. An IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) sufferer, Estill courageously comes out of the bushes and ventures past the bounds of "too much information" to confess some of life's most embarrassing--yet 9,000 words (approximately 36 pages)
I love all of Diana's books and this one is now included! It may not be for everyone ( those that have a poop phobia) but this book of family stories was the best! It brought back many IBS related personal stories and of course I had to call my dad and share as he and I could so totally relate!
And then to my great surprise Diana has two more books coming out! YEAH!!!
this book really struck too close to home, as yours truly suffers from IBS as well, and can truly sympathize with the author and her family and their various predicaments! honestly, sometimes all one can do IS laugh--this ailment doesn't discriminate between male and female, rich and poor, young and old, and if one can see at least a glimmer of humor, it can help.
