This work explains the language used by the most successful advocates throughout the English-speaking world, and contributors include distinguished lawyers within these jurisdictions, from the Far-East to the U.S.A. . As well as dealing with the words and phrases of advocacy, the book covers other aspects of the technique of communication.
Evans provides a clear and well-constructed account on how lawyers ought to present their arguments in the English-speaking courts. It is focused on the British and American court systems. Whilst I was reading this book to improve my understanding of good practice in the British legal system, it was still interesting to read about the contrasting methods applied in the U.S., even though it was irrelevant to my purpose for reading the book. I would give this book five stars if it concentrated solely on the British legal system instead of hopping between it and others.
