This book was pretty cute, kind of enemies to lovers office romance with a bit of a twist. The couple met randomly at a lake house party and spent whirlwind romance falling in love. The premise and length of the book made it seem a bit more fast burn than it was- it took a lot longer in the book for the FMC, Mandy to figure out who Grant was and that she had been blaming him for her dad's death. It was a lot less "enemies" to lovers than I was expecting but it was a pretty nice palate cleanser to a lot of the darker books I had been reading lately. Overall it was a really cute read and something I would recommend. The author did a good job keeping the reader engaged and gave us an HEA, which is always appreciated!.

Pour le coup le démarrage est vraiment rapide mais la relation est pas si simple. J’aime bien leur relation, la connection et l’alchimie entre Grant et Mandy, c’est le coup de foudre entre eux pour le coup.

Par contre il y a vraiment un problème de communication entre eux. Ils ne font vraiment pas d’effort, c’est trop.
Il y a pas mal de rebondissements, c’est plutôt cool, sympa et rapide à lire.

Bravo!! This is how these stories should be like. No legalities, ignoring feelings or emotions. We are introduced to Grant and Mandy. If anything should be like a meet cute, this was it. A mutual friend’s party and both wanting to introduce themselves to each other at the same time. They liked each other right away and didn’t hide it at all. They even decided to go the next step and become official in the beginning middle of the book. The way this was written put both Mandy and Grant oblivious to who each other was. She didn’t know her father owed him money and he didn’t know she was the daughter of the man he lent money to. The whole story has us the readers looking into a window and viewing situations as they happened with Mandy and Grant not knowing about the other’s motives. It was a refreshing way to write a story and to keep it pretty much throughout the whole book. It also kept things very interesting and tuned in. Mandy and Grant separate when they finally found out about each other and for half the book it’s about them dealing with it and the turmoil being apart causes. Due to intense emotion and feelings of betrayal both Mandy and Grant push those feelings aside and you see how it puts both of them into a spiral until they find each other again and Grant realizes the damage he caused the family. You can’t help but feel bad for both of them and find yourself not hating either of them. You’re left hoping they work it out. Overall, very entertaining, emotional story and it definitely redeemed the series.

This is a beautiful love story of an older man, Grant and a younger woman, Mandy who start a secret relationship not really knowing who the other truly is to them. Mandy finished her master’s degree and dives into saving her father’s company when a loan shark has her working against the clock and her fathers sudden death. Grant and Mandy spend time together and Grant finds himself learning to live life and doing things with and for Mandy that bring him joy and love. When Mandy works Grant offers her ideas on how to solve some of her problems. When Grant needs to return to the city and his job he leaves with the promise to return in 1-2 weeks. Mandy and her mother drop off from thief place as her mothers health takes a turn for the worst and she does not reach back out to Grant for months. There are other issues that pop up and with him not really knowing who Mandy is he’s lost on what to do. When Mandy’s best friend confronts Grant with the truth does he finally have a chance to fix what went wrong and how to get Mandy back! Grant was determined to get MiMa no matter what it took. When Mandy's father took a loan against it when his wife was sick. However, Mandy was left to take care of the business after her father and brother died. It was everything she had left. What she didn't know was the man she was involved with, is the man that has the loan.

When things go awry and Mandy finds out who Grant is she distances herself from him, although she also now has a surprise. Se is determined to take care of everything that she can, but it is just not working out for her when she finds out her mom is sick again.

I typically love Ava Grays' books however this one I felt wasn't as good. On some aspects I can see how their reactions were realistic, but I feel like we could have gotten more of the story. I felt like in some ways it was rushed and we didn't get answers to some questions except in passing or in a time jump. I am used to her books flowing more smoothly and I didn't feel like we fully got that this time.

Have you ever thought you knew someone only to realize that all you thought you knew was just assumptions? People are not always what they seem and sometimes you have to take a step back from your preconceptions to actually be able to objectively view those around you.

Loving the One I Should Hate is a prime example of that. You can't just keep the same notions and when faced with facts that contradict what you think to be true you may just have to admit you were wrong. The satisfaction and character growth that comes with that is wonderful to witness and Ava Gray did a wonderful job showcasing that while still giving readers that hard-hitting, high-passion connection her readers crave.

Mandy went to school to get her MBA so she could come home to help in her family business. Before she could graduate her mom got sick. The treatments for her cancer were really expensive and her dad made a deal with a ruthless CEO to get a loan and he put his business up as collateral.
Grant is a workaholic CEO who was forced to take some time off and go to his lake house. While there he saw a women who he couldn’t get out of his head. He went to his neighbors for a party and ran into her for the third time in a day and he knew he had to talk to her. Grant and Mandy spent much of the summer together. She was trying to save her business and he was just enjoying their time together. What happens with Mandy finds out that Grant is the ruthless CEO that may take her family business?

Sigh-worthy enemies -to-lovers story. Great tale of Mandy taking over her father’s company and trying to save it from being taken over. I enjoyed the main premise of the early part of the story when, despite their instant attraction, neither Grant nor Mandy realise ‘who’ the other one is. Grant has been fixated on taking over the company which Mandy is trying to save. Throw in the side plot of Her mother’s health and an unexpected result of Mandy & Grant’s affair and you have a really good narrative. The reader is teased in the second half of the book with the ‘will they/won’t they’ aspect of a resolution to their relationship. A great read from Ava Gray.

The first half of this book I felt in lovers wonderland. The instant attraction, the funny outings, the lovely charades and the absolute beauty of the relationship between Grant and Amanda were captivating.
Then there’s the second half…
And I was watching Game of Thrones. What an 180! From one second to the other those lovely people switched to complete strangers (to me), the blackest depths of character came out, once love, now hate.
Will love win?
Hey ! You’ll read Ava Gray ! Sure their love wins ! But there is a looong way to go…

Mandy and Grant meet by chance, pursue a relationship, then she finds out he is the “enemy” of her family’s company. His short-sighted single-mindedness when it comes to her company is his real sin. Mandy has her own secrets and big faults. Thank goodness for interfering friends because interfering family was a big part of the problem. I did not like how either of Mandy’s parents handled anything. They both really messed things up for her and each other. Grant truly is the hero of the story in every way.

Mandy is trying to save her family's business and Grant wants to buy it. A misunderstanding split them up but when one of her friends buts in to talk with Grant things change. Will Grant find a way to get Mandy back? Can they find their way to a happy ending?

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Grant and Mandy met each other without realizing who they each were regarding their business situation. Grant and Mandy’s father had been rivals, making Grant and Mandy enemies. Yet they have fallen for each other. He even helps her with her business without realizing she is the competition. Mandy is upset when she discovers their true situation. Will she walk away from Grant? How deep does their bitterness go? Will they be able to work something out? Can he convince her they deserve to be together?

I really have nothing nice to say about Mandy. I thought she was ridiculous and childish, didn't really know how old she is - maybe I missed that. Her friend was over the top and should have been thrown out on her a$$. As far as Grant is concerned, he is a business man - that's what he does!!! Mandy would have benefited greatly by seeking out a therapist.

I was able to get lost in the plot and the characters worked well and developed in the plot. I enjoyed their meet and insta match.
