It was always the same. Vicky this, Vicky that, the story of her life. Vicky hates her life. No one understands her, and she's always in trouble at home. But when she runs away, she may have made things worse . . . This challenging, contemporary story is a part of On The Wire, a gripping new fiction series of modern-day dramas based on family, school, and relationship problems.
This book is called Seeing Red. It was written by Jill Atkins. It's a made up story about a girl who had problems with her father and decided to run away. I chose to read this book because the writing on the cover looks really mysterious so I decided to try this book out.
So this book is about a girl who had problems with her dad. She was around 16 (I think) and liked to go to parties but her dad was against it. So then she was gone. She met all kinds of people. Some people were nice, some a little rude. The main idea of the book is to show that running away from home isn't the most effecient way to avoid conflict with your family.
Overall I really like the book. While reading it you keep thinking what will happen next. It taught me that you sometimes have to agree with someone else other then stay on your own side because it might just get worse. My favourite part is closer to the ending where a love story happens. I think this is a great book to learn from and for entertaining. I would recommend this book to people aged around 10-14 because to feel the book you need to clearly pretend you are there. I would give this book a 9.5 rating because of the amazing plot (my opinion).
I'm only giving this three instead of two stars because it left me really wanting to read a non-fantasy book about running away (and starting a new life out of nothing in a city). Feel free to recommend something.
Vicky this, Vicky that! It's always the same - and Vicky can't stand it for a second longer. So she packs her bags and leaves the nagging behind. But while life on the streets provides welcome relief from her parents, it brings new dangers and hard lessons to be learnt.
This book is about Vicky. Vicky hates her parents that is why she packed her bag the other day. She walked away from her parents and all her trouble. She swapped a warm bed for a cold piece of cardboard. And chooses for a live on the streets.
Allthough the subject really interest me, I do not like the story. It is boring and almost nothing happened. It was really hard to read all 14 chapters and 127 pages. I would not recommend this book to anyone. I also do not like the way how it is writen, like you are being readed by your primary school teacher. So 2 stars for me I guess.
