I’m fed up with the heroine. She is so weak and crying all days. She has no dignity before the hero in every situation both before and after losing her memory. But when practical mind is in need the most (when needing money to save her mom) she immediately raised up her inexplicable pride to prevent the possible helping source.
The hero is also an inexplicable sicko. Why did he slap her so often and was cold to her when it is the one he loves the most (and no one there to prevent him to love her after her memory is lost). He even almost killed her in Canada!! Unbelievable asshole.
Regarding the style, the flashback part is too long (10 chapters!!!) thus not well-connected to the first part. At some points the flashback should be somehow interrupted or be clarified with present viewpoint so that the reader won’t “get lost” and forget that we are back to the past, not a new story.
Illogical details:
1. What is her deep memory of Zheng - her first love - to the point that she is still afraid of meeting him after ten years? it’s just a chick love that ended easily at first challenge. For a mature, experienced boss working in nightlife like her, old relationship would not be hard to face if there is no deep wounds.
2. She gave birth to her child in coma, that means she must have undergone C-section operation. Why didn’t she have questions about the C-section scar (so typically) under her belly even she loses her memory?
The only bonus point is that the hero doesn’t rape the heroine, like other works of Fei.
To me this is one of the worst pieces of Fei wo si cun. Or rather, all Fei's works lower women's value and are trash.

Plot holes and suspension of disbelief required? Yes. Inexplicable behavior by main characters to further the plotline? Yup. Still, I really liked the story and I really liked how the author sequenced the timeline for the book (albeit rushed in the last quarter). And for all the gaping plotholes and character inconsistencies, I can live with it and didn't raise my eyebrows too much as I plowed through the book.
A note for other readers: there are 3 other 番外 that have been released and either were excluded from the print edition or they came out after print publication. They're worth reading as they try to close up some of the plotholes.
