Have you ever wondered what makes the the world's oldest book so great? Open greatest wisdom and has added to it his own enlightened comments that render the wisdom exuberantly alive. On each opposing page he has skillfully created a Chinese ink drawing in the Zen fashion that the reader contemplates while the wisdom does its work. Truly a delight and a perfect gift item.
I read I Ching Life first, and found the organization of that book to be stronger. I Ching Wisdom is organised by numbered aphorisms, followed by the author’s commentary about the aphorisms. I Ching life is a themed exposition on how to lead the life of a superior person in harmony with Nature or All-that-is. A lot of the material between I Ching Life and I Ching Wisdom is repeated - I Ching Wisdom is a little more disjointed, I Ching Life has theme pulling the threads together which made it a more enjoyable read.
I'm a little put off by the fact that Wu Wei is actually a pen name for Chris Prentiss, author of "The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure". I can't help but wonder if he was ashamed of publishing this book, or was trying to imply that he was an old Chinese sage...although anyone familiar with Zen or the I Ching probably already knows that Wu Wei means. Regardless, This is a very useful and easy to understand guide to using the I Ching. It is written in modern terms, so the interpretations of the ancient text are easy to follow, and, I believe, are accurate.
