The woman named Leonarda Cianciulli was a brutal serial killer. Known to come from an unhappy family, Cianciulli tried committing suicide twice at a very young age. Eventually when she was of age, she fell in love with a man whom her family was vehemently against. Even with this, she went ahead with the marriage which then prompted her mother to lay a curse on her. Being a very superstitious woman, she felt this curse was what made her life a miserable one. Cianculli apart from the curse she claimed to have affected her life made three gruesome murder on three women in between 1939 and 1940. On killing her victim, she turned their bodies into soap and teacakes from their blood, earning her the nickname the "Soap Maker of Correggio.” Surprisingly, this murder was done in order to ensure that her favorite son would emerge from the war unscathed.
