"The addicted person will lie, cheat, steal, and take advantage of his or her own family members or best friends to satisfy his or her cravings. Nothing is sacred, and no one is considered untouchable when an addict lives for that next fix, so the preeminent thing in his or her mind is how to obtain it. Nearly everything an addict says or does is dominated by that desire...The desire for drugs or alcohol obsesses the addicted person's mind until nothing else matters." (Pat Robertson, Bring It On: "ARE DRUGS AND LYING CAUSED BY DEMON POSSESSION?", Page 239)

Pat Robertson delivers his answers to many questions asked by his viewers of the 700 club show. I found most of his answers hit the bull's eye and a few missed the target in my opinion. For example, I believe animals go to heaven...he does not necessarily. Animal's have breath. If you look up soul in the Hebrew, you will know that "breath" means "soul". I believe anything that has breath, has a soul and therefore will be in heaven. He also believes cremation is wrong. I don't believe cremation is wrong...and other things. About 90% of what he gives his advice on, I would agree with him and he backs up with the Bible.

I found his advice on health invaluable. Much to learn from this man of God.

The book itself was ok. It had some interesting takes on theology that I had not considered. Only for that reason did I rate it two stars. I will never read anything by this author again since I know consider him a complete douchebag. I respect nothing he says after he said it was biblically ok for a man to divorce his Alzheimer's suffering wife since she "wasn't the woman he married."

This book was okay, and had *some* thoughtful answers, but a braver and more thoughtful Christian book on current issues is 20 Hot Potatoes Are Afraid to Touch, by Tony Campolo.
