A highly personal approach to the world of the singer and the teacher, written by an internationally recognized author. The author focuses on a logical, step-by-step technique for working with singers, drawing on her experience as a singer, respected teacher, researcher, and lecturer.
The famous Australian Soprano Janice Chapman's book of exercises and writings on the human voice, addresses well common vocal problems in uncommon situations.
I read this book as part of getting back into singing after a hiatus and found it very helpful, particularly for identifying and correcting problems in the voice. The writing is clear, specific, and detailed without being prohibitively technical for readers without prior vocal training. I found the physiological explanations of why certain exercises should be applied in certain contexts especially interesting.
