Catching

Rate this book
The Author was the first Afro-American to play for the New York Yankees. He began his playing with the Yankees as Yogi Berra's understudy in 1955. In this book, he describes the techniques of being a good catcher with photographs illustrating the different positions. This is a hard-to-find baseball instructional book on catching and one of the best books on the rudiments and finer points of catching the Major-League way. Excellent instruction for the novice, as well as the experienced athlete who wants to improve his game. Mr Howard was awarded then Most Valuable Player Award in 1963.
