Rate this book
Named one of the most romantic movies of the past twenty-five years by Entertainment Weekly, Dirty Dancing is a touchstone in the lives of generations of moviegoers. Now, for the first time, millions of fans have the opportunity to own the first-ever book celebrating the magic, music, and memories of the seminal film.

With photographs, reminiscences from cast and crew, memorable quotes, trivia, and song lyrics, this gift-able package is a perfect and brand-new way to relive the film.

Dirty Dancing is a timeless love story set in the summer of 1963 when Baby, an innocent seventeen-year-old, meets Johnny, a dashing hotel dance instructor at Kellerman’s Catskills resort. Its passionate story line and alluring dance numbers made the film a box-office hit and pop-culture phenomenon. Though the film launched the careers of stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, and won an Academy Award®, a Golden Globe®, a Grammy Award®, and an Independent Spirit Award®, it is best known for being an undeniably loved, oft-quoted piece of American cinematic history.

With the recent passing of Patrick Swayze, the twenty-fifth anniversary of the film takes on a new meaning and poignancy. This official celebration of the film, the stars, and the time is a must-have for any of the millions of people who love the film.

I bought this book on Amazon in 2016.

he book was published in 2011, for 25 years from the movie was released.

The book is purely an extract of scripts from the Dirty Dancing movie released in 1978.
The movie was based on a true story from the authors of the screen-play and the producer : Eleanor Bergstein.

There are no memories left as the resort from which the producer was inspired was in 'Jewish Alps' called Catskills (2-hour drive from New York city) and is destroyed. Catskills resort (in the movie the resort's name Kellermann's) where New York's Jewish family would come on holidays in 1960-ies.

The book is full of nice photos, very colorful ones. The text next to photos are extracts of the scripts.

The book is only for Dirty Dancing funs and the ones who already seen the movie.

The book is easy to read (read the script). In 2 hours you may easily finish reading.

Dirty dancing: a celebration is a wonderful walk down memory lane. It has everything you will ever need if you love the movie as much as I do. This book contains the script and a generous amount of emotion-stirring photographs. There are also quotes from the movie throughout that line up with some of the photos. Spaghetti arms!

One star for the movie because I love that movie. Two stars because I was a film major and love scripts but it’s not the whole script which is a bummer.
