Angels of Mercy #4

Gabriel's Lady

Rate this book
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Those were the words spoken at his beautiful young bride’s graveside, but Gabriel Getty found they held little comfort for him. At twenty-seven, his life was his wife and unborn child gone, his career as a lawyer ruined, his hopes dashed. Then, in his darkest hour, he found Solace.

I will fear no evil, for You are with me.

She was full of life, energy and daring. Solace Monroe was a writer of dime novels, a horse trainer, a rider in a Wild West show, and she didn’t seem to be afraid of anything. Not until a rival was murdered, she was accused and all society shunned her for the very individuality Gabe loved. This time he had the strength and knowhow to protect his woman; this time he would have faith that...

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.

Drawing upon her experiences in Jamesport, the largest Old Order Amish community west of the Mississippi, longtime Missourian Charlotte Hubbard (a.k.a. Naomi King) writes of simpler times and a faith-based lifestyle in her new Seasons of the Heart series. Like her heroine, Miriam Lantz, Charlotte considers it her personal mission to feed people—to share hearth and home. Faith and family, farming and food preservation are hallmarks of her lifestyle, and the foundation of her earlier Angels of Mercy series. She’s a deacon, a dedicated church musician and choir member, and when she’s not writing, she loves to try new recipes, crochet, and sew. Charlotte now lives in Minnesota with her husband and their border collie.

Gabriel is getting married at the beginning of this book to a fragile woman who passes away years later. His marriage had to deal with his wife's death and the problems she had. Her Mother interfered on a daily basis. After her death he had to make a lot of changes to his life. These changes brought about different way of life and he renewed his friendship with a young girl he danced with at his wedding. You need to read this book for the full story to unfold and bring both of them peace and happiness.

Lovely

I dont know how to articulate what this book made me feel. So uplifting to see the love an adoration for family, friends, and the lord almighty. This is the only book i have read in the series and i enjoyed it all. The good values, the ups an downs an how to turn it over for the good lord to lead you down your path. Solace and Gabe have a connection since she was 11. Even at 11 Gabe could see the women she would be an he praised her for her own thoughts an standing strong on the decisions she makes. I recommend this book if you are looking to cleanse your soul an reconnect to the bible

This was probably my favorite book in the Angels of Mercy series. I just loved Solace's character! I also loved the running theme of finding your purpose and going at it with passion and abandon. I loved returning to the lives of characters we see in the first three novels. I was also glad to know that Joel does return to his family from time to time. Most of all, though, I just loved how this book encourages us to go at what we love with all that we have, and to completely be ourselves, no matter what others say or how they might perceive us. Solace and Gabe's story is awesome, and I totally recommend it!

HISTORICAL CHRISTIAN ROMANCE WESTERN

I read the series straight through. The first book took me about a third of the way to feel comfortable with the characters. However, as the stories unfolded Charlotte Hubbard revealed her great talent with character development. There were times I was pretty sure how the story might end. It was the journey that captured me, like learning to ride a horse and slowly relaxing into the rhythm.

The whole Angels of Mercy series is a winner!

I absolutely adored this Charlotte Hubbard Angels of Mercy book series! Loved watching the children grow and find love and have children of their own! The most important factors in these stories is the family's faith and all encompassing love for God and each other! Each book is beautifully written and made me laugh and cry more than once. My only regret is seeing them end - need more stories for more of the grown children!

Gabriels Lady

This is a very heartwarming story of tradgedy but also the love of family making everything allright again. There was a strong love between parents and children, between sisters, between good friends that made the story a great one. Submitted by Marge Shults.

Great story taking back to the 18 th century.

This is the 4 th book I 've read of the series. Just plain wholesome enjoyable stories of a family and how they came together. Along with what was going on in lives. Including solving a murder.

Gabriel's Lady (Angels of Mercy)

And so the story continued. Love, the desire to try new things, a possible murder, and the love and trust of family. Beautiful story, beautiful writing.

I enjoyed this book. It’s book four of a series, but I haven’t read the other three. It’s fine as a stand alone. I could tell there was a back story for tic novel, but this book made the past clear. I liked the two main characters as well as the rest of the people.

I find all the mystical things really hard to swallow. The stories are good, but they should not be listed as Christian. Dead people talking to live people from the grave? Really? I must say I’m disappointed at held the story is categorized.

Gabriel's Lady

Good story of feelings of guilt over a failed marriage , forgiveness of oneself and others. It is a tale of finally following one's called purpose. I would recommend the entire series.

Wishing there were more!!!

This last book in the Angels of Mercy series is as excellent as the first three. I really wish there more. I’m sure Lily and Grace have stories, too! I really want to know who left Lily on the porch.

Great read

A beautiful love story. This demonstrates the saying "To thine own self be true". We are all products of our own personal history and this book certainly shows this.

What a wonderful display of courage and inspiration

I enjoyed this fourth book in the series as well as seeing the growth of the characters in the series. I hope there will be other books in this series so I can see what happens to the other Malloy children.

Charlotte Hubbard has woven a beautiful story about a "mismatched patchwork" family who have all, at one time or another, managed to come to the conclusion that their parents faith and strength is needed in their life also. Mercy and Michael Mallory have set an example for their family by living their faith for all to see, therefore, letting their light and love shine for others in all their trials and tribulations.

I have laughed, cheered, gotten angry and cried while reading this amazing inspirational series and look forward to reading more books/novels by Ms. Hubbard.

If you enjoy clean, sweet, historical romance, with snippets of real people and places, you will love this series of books by Charlotte Hubbard. Happy reading, and thank you Ms. Hubbard!!!

Good series.

Charlotte Hubbard spends a wonderful saga, dealing with, love, faith and all the perils of settling the west. I love this family and hope she continues to write stories about them. I don't want to wonder what happens to the rest of the children. Recommend this series highly.

A homespun story full of love

I enjoyed this story very much, as the characters were
depicted so well. I could picture many of the events
in this story as quite logical or similar to those
that could happen in any blended family, but the
love the characters showed each other made the
Story. A great family read.

Trials and tribulations

Wonderful story of hardship being resolved replaced by love and peace to end with love, giving and peace. Bring blessings from God as He directs their lives, bringing them through hard times and helping them to find meaning and contentment as they share their hearts with those that need them most.
