Triss Long loved watching her neighbor and the games he played with his lovers. Whether it was ropes or whips, blindfolds or ball gags, the way his body moved mesmerized Triss, and fueled a few of her own fantasies. Not to mention inspiring a scene or two in the erotic novels she wrote.br/br/Until the day she literally fell at his feet.br/br/Now that Vince Black's attention is focused on her, Triss has to choose between the naughty girl who's dying to play along, and the good girl her mama raised who's screaming "Run Away!"br/br/**This is a novella of 34,500 words (approximately 96 pages) and is connected loosely to Meeting A Neighbor's Needs and A Neighbor's Ultimatum**
Triss (part-time cleaner, part-time erotic writer, and all "good girl") have been fixated on the Dom (Vince) across the street for years. For the past 6 months or so, they have been having phone sex but is she ready for BDSM when she is a virgin?
I really dont know what to say about this short story since it's so underdeveloped for what it touches on. It ends on an abrupt HFN ending and feels like the first 75 pages of a larger book. It's the third book in the "Neighbors" series but can be read standalone since it's loosely connect to the first 2 bks.
Vince made his first appearance in the series in the first bk Meeting a Neighbor's Needs as a participant in a wild orgy sevensome. It is referred to as "that weekend with Gina" in this story but not really explained. I suggest that you read that one as it was the best in the series instead of this.
I also felt the story went a bit overboard explaining why, Triss was so dead set against the kink Vince had to offer. True, it’d be hard to get used to the fact that what you desire is beyond what’s accepted as ‘the norm’ in society. But, we’re talking about a very independent woman who wrote erotica for a living. In my mind she would’ve gotten over her aversion sooner. She’d lusted after Vince for four years, spent a year getting to know him, and six months talking on the phone as a Dom and her Sub. At this point, I was left wondering what she’s waiting for, and why Vince was still holding out. Not that a man shouldn’t wait until a woman is ready. But these two weren’t even going out on dates, or kissing.
For those reasons listed above I gave Teach me Master three stars. I think if Ms. Rain had taken out some of the background information, and focused more on the present, this could have earned a four star rating, easily. Those tweaks would have erased the moments that made the story seem to drag, fleshed out the characters more and added more believability.
I really disliked this story. It was not long enough to convey the story she was trying to get you to believe in. All the inner monologue was beyond annoying. This is the first book I have rated one star, it deserved it. This is not really even a good book for people trying to ease into the genre. I am also over the stories about the little girls who think BDSM is just the worst thing in the world that they could ever do.
How can you not love a patient, sexy Dom who can make your toes curl with sexy talk alone. My only complaints are the shortness of the story-I really wanted to follow this couple further-and the length of time it takes Vince to convince his "Treats" to take their relationship out of the phone lines and into the bedroom. Read with a glass of ice water handy, Vince is hot!
More like 4.5. A chance meeting leads to something more and seems to fulfill every fantasy. I love how this book didn't just show the couple jumping into a scene together. It showed how it took some time and also it showed some of the internal conflict this type of relationship can bring.
A short read about 2 neighbours watching each other, longing for each other but they can't seem to get past just having phone sex. She is conflicted about being with him because he is kinky and as a modern woman she doesn't think she should submit.
