In the town of Bannet, Doss Edding has led the cold-blooded Half Moon Gang on a spree of theft and murder that should have put him behind bars for the rest of his life. But when the corrupt local law sets him free, Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack must hunt down the gang members one by one, and see to it that justice is done.
A lot more character development and back story on Sam Burrack. A little confusing though.. It seemed like the author only intended to write the first three and then end it because the way he portrays the character in this book is very different than he is in the rest of the books in the series. I enjoyed the story, but it wasn't one of my favorites..good but not excellent. Still recommend reading it..but do it in order so you don't get too confused..just keep in mind my theory..that he only intended to write the first three but after the success of them he continued on and transformed the Ranger into a younger man.
Bully bullies and dictatorial attributes are what illustrated in this adventure of my favorite no-nonsense, and who will warn you about what your facing going up against him. Maria his partner lots of wisdom and empath when the situation calls for it. Stone cold killer, narcissistic closet gay lots of humanity in this adventure. Sam Burrack is a force to deal with, and I love him. Ralph Cotton is a great story writer illustrating how the west was settled and the types of people who dared to prove their dreams by going west. Go west young men and women...
I am not normally a western fan but a few writers seem to jump out and grab me. Ralph Cotton writes a quick paced and very historically accurate book. Nice read with great characters. Very recommended
Another well written western genre contribution from Ralph Cotton. He has multiple storylines than come together in the final chapters like a well mixed manhattan.
As always another great read about Ranger Sam Burrack. I really enjoy these books by Ralph Cotton. I have never read a book by Mr. Cotton I didn't like. But I look forward to the one on rager Burrack. Thank you, Ralph Cotton for an awesome read.
