Even while solving a murder, Emily finally gets all the answers about Scott’s death. Each book in the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast series is a standalone murder mystery. This seven-book series is about hope, determination, and friendship… and solving murders with the help of ghosts in a small town in North Georgia.
Beth Dolgner writes paranormal fiction and non-fiction. Her interest in things that go bump in the night really took off on a trip to Savannah, Georgia, so it's fitting that the Betty Boo, Ghost Hunter Series of paranormal romance novels takes place in that spooky city. Beth's young adult novels, the steampunk Manifest and the urban fantasy A Talent for Death, also have paranormal elements. Her non-fiction work includes Georgia Spirits and Specters and Everyday Voodoo.
Since Georgia is obviously on her mind, you might think Beth lives there. Well, she did, but these days she and her husband live in Berlin, Germany, with their three cats. Beth misses those mild Georgia winters and proper iced tea, but there's no reason her characters can't enjoy those things.
Beth also enjoys giving presentations on Victorian death and mourning traditions as well as Victorian Spiritualism. She has been a volunteer at an historic cemetery, a ghost tour guide and a paranormal investigator. Right now she's chronicling the best spooky spots around Europe.
I liked reading this set of seven books about Emily, who owned the Eternal Rest B&B. I liked how each of the books showed how Emily changed and developed. I liked the way that the characters developed and were complicated, and believable. They also had an authenticity that made them feel like friends of mine, as well as Emily's. I particularly liked Sage, a psychic medium, and Reed, who tended the Eternal Rest cemetery, and was another of Emily's friends.
I read these books as individuals. That are superb paranormal mysteries. Emily runs the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast with its resident ghosts. Over the series she investigates a series of strange and supernatural happens and murders. I loved this series. I highly recommend this series and this author. The writing is excellent with emotion, a bit of humour and a lot of mystery.
Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast #1-7, is a series of books relating the progress of Emily Buchanan, as she manages the B & B. She took over from her grandparents, and she was happily married to Scott Buchanan, until a tragic car accident took him away from Emily.
Emily's best friend Sage Clark, is a psychic medium, and she has known that Emily has medium abilities; and is helping her develop them. Emily's other friend Reed Marshall is the sexton of the town's modern cemetery, Oak Hill Memorial Garden, as well as the historic Hilltop Cemetery, which is adjacent to Eternal Rest B & B; he knows paranormal things.
Emily goes through a series of assistants, host diverse groups of people, gives tours through the cemetery, and is a natural ghost finder, and body finder. She is doing all she can to keep the B & B up to date and viable.
Emily is worried about her husband Scott and his spirit! She hasn't been able to contact him and she's concerned about his and her safety. She also wants to find justice for the murdered, and peace so they can move on. She's not ready to think about moving on, she' trying to get through right now!
With the help of her assistants', her friends and assistance of the police force; they help Emily in not only her business life, but her personal life, as well. This book speaks to small town life, where everyone knows everybody, and everyone knows everything, quickly!
Can Emily keep her guest and her ghosts safe, fed, and in the loop? Will she ever get the right assistant? Will she get better at reading her guests? Will she ever get that roof done?
A cozy paranormal mystery for 13+, with no racy scenes, and no foul language! I enjoyed books #1 - 7! A good Series!
Emily starts the stories with her first murder and Trevor a new worker is at the centre of things, she is at this point widowed and still grieving for her husband who she lost in an accident she doesn't think was an accident. Books 1-7 all deal with this particular story arc as she grows from being merely the B&B owner with a psychic friend to becoming a medium herself and through it all her desire to speak to her husband fuels her and it is finally resolved, but you will have to read them all in sequence to learn how.
Through the books, a murder happens that is centred upon Emily's bed and breakfast in some way and her friends, including Trevor, the sexy police officer and Reed, as well as Sage the medium best friend all come together to help her solve the problems and the who dunnit, while the ghosts all lend a hand and so do her guests. It's all well written and beautifully done. I loved these and can't wait for book 8.
Emily, a recent widow, runs a bed and breakfast originally started by her grandparents. The staff, though small, is very helpful in keeping track of what the guests are doing and feeling. They have more insight than most since they are ghosts. When you add in the cemetery next door as well as all the other hauntings happening in Oak Hill, Emily and her psychic friend, Sage, have more than enough to keep themselves busy. This box set is a great way to become immersed in the developments that build throughout the series. One of these books by itself is just not enough.
Read the first book, the downloaded the whole series in the omnibus on KU. Liked the characters a lot, especially the ghosts. The murder mysteries were interesting, and although everything was pretty much wrapped up at the end, the author did let us readers know that there will be more books in the future. Great if you’ve got an afternoon free, or a couple of hours to spare, and you want something fun and lighter to read.
Fun mystery series helping ghost crossover solving murders
Fun series , to read while writing for the next nightmare book to come out by this author I really love that series very oriental setting characters and oh course good mysteries .. This series has mediums ghost murders mysteries the inn has permanent ghost that are like family to Emily. Lots of bakery item buckets of biscuits from local bakery.
These were a delightful read. The stories were a little repetitive but the characters were delightful. Would like to see a spunky ghost or two that stick around and are a little sassy but overall a fun and easy read. Looking forward to the next one, as she says she will come back to it at some point. Want to know how the love triangle plays out. Love that my kids can read it without worry about language or sexual content.
This was a really enjoyable read! Loved the characters, the setting and B & B! It was so different from the normal murder scenarios, too! I will want to recommend your great stories to everyone I know! I can't wait to read more of your adventures! Thank you
This series is really fun, a little scary, and sometimes sad, but it is so good you won't want to put it down! Owning a Haunted Bed and Breakfast isn't boring. It also isn't for the faint of heart. Solving murders wasn't part of the business plan but you can't let your guests down - even if they are now dead!
This compilation of seven Paranormal Cozy Mysteries kept me turning the pages. The story kept evolving book by book as the characters grew more three dimensional and credible. The dialog was realistic and compelling.
I liked the characters. The paranormal activity was varied but not too "out there". The series has possibilities for future books; I will watch for new books.
Great series. Well written. I love the characters and it is written where you feel right at home. I’ve read all 7 books. Each mystery is complete without cliffhanger endings. Recommend highly.
I loved this series. The characters are well described and the main ones very likable.Very intricate stories that hold your attention and are never repetitious. A very good read.
Loved all characters can't wait for next one . I literally cried when she had to cross Scott over. Never guessed the killer in any of the books made you think was one ended up totally who not expecting.
I live in north Georgia area. The series has everything I want in a series; a touch of romance, clean, interesting characters, twist and turns in solving the mystery, and positive outcomes.
I liked the fact that the paranormal seemed normal. The characters were real and interesting. The story lines had twists and turns that I followed with interest and enthusiasm. The endings were not expected. Great series.
Well written series. I loved how Emily was able to grow her abilities to help solve the crimes and how her friend group was there to help and grow too.
