Enter the world of Geronimo Stilton, where another funny adventure is always right around the corner. Each book is a fast-paced adventure with lively art and a unique format kids 7-10 will love. Ho, ho, ho! I love Christmas in New Mouse City. But this year, Grandfather William wanted me to research a new story. He asked me to dress up like Santa Claus and let lots of little mouselets sit on my lap. Cheese niblets! If only I had my own team of reindeer and could fly far, far away. . . .

I think this is a great book because it is fun to read and adventurous. It is nice to read at times when you are bored. I read it a lot of times because it is one of my favorite books.
Its about a mouse (Geronimo Stilton) who has to deliver the presents for Santa Claus because Santa has the measels. Can Geronimo do it? Well, I won't tell because its for me to know and you to find out.
I would really recommend this book to other 4th Graders who like funny and adventurous books. Once your are in it you don't want to be bothered.
I had no idea these books were A Whole Thing, but they're a very good transitional series for budding readers, so thumbs up. I'm reading a handful of these with a 2nd grader whose enthusiasm for reading outstrips their actual skill/attention span; they can't quite handle full-on chapter books and that's where these are so great: the pictures are full color, there's a lot of visual interest in the changing fonts and frequent maps/letters/etc., and the chapters are short. They get to feel like they're reading a big-kid chapter book, and minus the pictures that's true! These are fairly complex with a sustained plotline and everything. The vocabulary can be a bit challenging for that grade level at least (that's good because then we get to discuss it & the kiddo gets to expand their word bank in a fun way), there's a real story in here to test comprehension, and for adult readers-along there are plenty of puns that'll probably go over the heads of the target audience - the detective rodent is 'Hercules Poirat', for example. Would I read this series by myself, no, but I can stand 'em a lot more than the godawful Calendar Mysteries.
My one bone to pick is that the author is listed as the eponymous Geronimo Stilton, and for my mutuals here who probably don't know what the heck this is all about, he is a mouse. These characters are all anthropomorphic rodents. And now my poor 2nd grader thinks Geronimo Stilton is a real mouse who has really written this book series. Do I tell them?? Do I not tell them??? WHY WOULD YOU PUT ME IN THIS POSITION, GERONIMO STILTON? CHEESE NIBLETS!!!
Who is Geronimo Stilton? He's a brainy Italian mouse who lives in New Mouse City and edits a newspaper, The Rodent's Gazette. He and his human creators have had adventures all over the world, each one resulting in a book. In this Christmas tale, Geronimo has become a workaholic with no time to celebrate the holiday, much to the chagrin of his colleagues and relatives, especially his favorite nephew, Benjamin Stilton. When the hard-working mouse finally falls asleep at his desk, Christmas comes to Geronimo in the form of a green-clad elf who whisks him away to Santa's compound in a sleigh pulled by the famous reindeer. (Middle readers will be intrigued to learn that Santa lives near Rovaniemi, Finland.) Geronimo's journey on Christmas Eve results in further travels, a new attitude toward the holiday, and much celebration and good cheer with the excitable but lovable rodent, given to exclamations like "Moldy Mozzarella!" and "Putrid cheese puffs!" This chapter book moves along at a rapid clip, enlivened by many drawings, maps, lists, and bird's-eye views, while the text sports a multitude of fonts in all sizes, styles, and colors; a special section offers recipes and tips on making decorations. Readers may notice that, though the book's origins are in Italy, Christmas seems very much like the holiday we know. Well, that's what happens when a mouse becomes an international star; the series has been translated into thirty-five languages and is now a world best-seller, outselling (cheese niblets!) Harry Potter.
I realized that Santa isn't always healthy. I liked the part when Santa asked Geronimo to deliver the toys to children all over the world. Geronimo delivered the presents with an elf called Ding Dong. Ding Dong was jealous that Santa didn't let him deliver the toys, so he tricked Geronimo, but soon Geronimo saved him when he drowned in an icy lake,so the two became a bestfriend. Santa thanked Geronimo after he delivered all presents.
Ho, ho, ho! I love christmas in New Mouse City. But this year, there was just too much work to do at my newspaper, THE RODENT'S GAZETTE. I was so busy, I could hardly even squeak! And my friends and family were getting their tails in a twist because i didn't have time to celebrate. Cheese niblets! If only i had my ownteam of reindeer and could fly far, far away to santa's toy factory....
Geronimo Stilton have another great adventure. It was Christmas time when Geronimo have a lot of work at office because of that he can't celebrate Christmas with his family and friends. But this Christmas Santa need help to deliver gift to everyone then Geronimo Stilton help Santa. Enjoy reading Geronimo books!
3 and a half stars. Best Geronimo Christmas book I've read so far. I realised halfway through that I have a hardback special edition Christmas Geronimo book so I actually still have 2 left to read. I noticed that there are some reindeer which are females and yet they have antlers when I'm pretty certain they shouldn't. Shows lack of research on the author's behalf, and the editor too tbh The fact that most of the story was a dream and about 15 pages are fun Christmas activities rather than the continuation of the tale did take the edge off ngl
Stilton's grandfather pranked him by making him miss Christmas Eve lunch or dinner with all his family and friends by stressing him out unnecessarily over work, wtf. Geronimo is a guy who could basically get revenge on anybody he desires as they've all somehow done him wrong. Once again, the moral here is that it doesn't have to be Christmas to spend more time with the family. Also something that grinds my gears, that absolutely pisses me off, how he refers to his nephew as his favourite, his aunt too. What about the rest of his nephews and aunts? They aren't even mentioned. I think that's discriminatory and vile.
One more thing. What does Stilton have to lose if his grandfather returns to the company? He's already filthy rich and doesn't particularly need his job other than to maintain his reputation which wouldn't be so easy to do if he's fired rather than if he resigns. He could resign regardless despite all the people depending on him, he could appoint a new leader. Why he doesn't do that is beyond me. That's why this series always seems to follow the same pattern, it's rooted to the spot. In other news, 2 more books to go!
I loved it. So basically it is about this mouse called Geronimos stilton who runs a newspaper called the rodent's gazette. It was Christmas soon and he had a lot of work to do the same thing happened every day he went to work at 8.00 am and left at 12 am or 1 am. He got influenced by his father as he is a harsh and strict man he is the founder of it. If geronimo did not do any work he would take over the rodent's gazette and make him in charge of the water coolers. So geronimo worked and worked and never stopped he got invites to parties but he all declined them as he was so busy. His co-workers were decorating the office and they wanted to throw a Christmas party but geronimo was so scared that his father would just come and take over. That is all I can tell u as I do not wanna spoil the book. OH NO, I said too much.
Miss 5 loved reading this with me. she'd gone off chapter books for a bit but has come back into the fold (good old Geronimo!). It's pretty cool cause she remembers characters from the previous books of these that I've read to her so she enjoyed the cameos. Good and easy read all 'round (though I can't wait to move onto chapter books with a bit more meat to them)
The artworks in these Geronimo Stilton books are extremely detailed. There are maps, diagrams, Funny fonts, and large group scene captures. The plot of this story had a heartfelt message to spend time with the people you love. Plus, Santa needed help so there is Hijinx by the end. Enjoy.
Understand why kids in my class like this series so much now. This was engaging, sweet, funny and easy to read. Great images and an enjoyable read about a mouse saving Christmas.
