Fredrik Ekelund was born in Uppsala in a medical family. When he was nine years old the family moved to Malmö, where he lived during his childhood. He worked for five years at a stevedoring company in Malmö and then studied comparative literature in Lund and Paris. He has since lived in France for several periods. He has also worked as a translator and interpreter. He is now living in Malmö.

In 1984, he debuted with the novel Stuv Malmö, Kom!. Fredrik Ekelund has since been published both poetry and novels.

Spennende å lese om Brazils fotballhistorie. Noen deler er veldig bra, særlig delene om spillerne, Garrincha... Og ellers om den tidlige fotballen i Brazil, også om de første VM-triumfene. Mens en del av boka er bare korte oppramsende bruddstykker som ikke flyter så bra, og så er det er en del gjentakelser.

Okej, den är uttömmande och skriven med en stor portion hjärta och ett digert researcharbete, men den upprepar sig då och då i brist på en bättre röd tråd. Fast: vem bryr sig? Det är ändå fotbollsgodis på hög nivå.
