Levitra Vardenafil is an anti-impotence drug that is prescribed to men with erectile dysfunction (impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED). Vardenafil helps men get and maintain an erection by boosting blood flow to the penis when used in conjunction with sexual stimulation. Sexually transmitted illnesses are not protected by this medicine (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis). Use latex condoms and other "safe sex" methods, such as oral sex. Before you begin taking vardenafil, read the Patient Information Leaflet issued by your pharmacist. Your doctor or pharmacist can help you if you have any questions.
As prescribed by your doctor, take this medication by mouth as often as you need it. Take vardenafil one hour before engaging in sexual activity, either with or without meals. It is not recommended that you take this medication more than once per day. At least 24 hours between doses is recommended.
The dose is dependent on your medical condition, reaction to therapy, and any other drugs you may be taking at the same time. Inform your physician and pharmacist about all of the medications and supplements you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
To be safe, ask your doctor or pharmacist before consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine. If you take this medication with grapefruit, you may experience more severe adverse effects.
