love a good anthology, particularly written by women, and the australian backdrop was a bonus. some stories are worth a five star review and i want some of their lines tattooed on my body forever while others/most left a lot to be desired. sometimes stories where nothing happens and end abruptly and seem to have no point genuinely have no point. maybe i need to get my ass to australia and then read it again.
I plucked this anthology from my bookshelves and I likely inherited this from a friend who asked me to take her castoffs to the school book fair. I enjoyed reading these stories from authors new to me. Amusing, disturbing, magical, thoughtful. Each piece standing apart from the others, easily picked up and put back down to savor.
Another excellent anthology of Australian short stories, with a focus on female authors. There was the usual hit-and-miss effect you get from collections involving many different authors and styles, but overall I really enjoyed it.
