Growing up in a small Southern town in the 1930s, LeRoy Evans, a white teenager, finds consolation and good advice from Woody Woodrow, an African American who works at the barber shop
Very touching and down-to-earth. My own son was going through some tough times when I picked this up years ago. It became our nightly read-time together and touched both of our hearts and helped my son realize that though life's circumstances sometimes don't pan out, there is always hope that we can rise above them and become something more. Highly recommended young man's hope-filled novel.
