It was alright. It seems to be written a little oddly and if they were going for that well hes an alien so things would be a little odd, i feel like it would have had more of that oddity to it. Seems like it had scripted oddness to it. Like the main character seems to know things he probably should be more curious about unless its specifically stated that he doesn't know or understand that thing.
