Mystery and terror lurk in the pages of these great suspense tales written by some of the masters of the short story during the last hundred years. Whether it's Jack the Ripper lurking in the London fog, or a deadly reptile in the thatch of an Indian bungalow, or some very strange and terrifying bedfellows, you will find then all in this bedside book which is guaranteed to keep you reading till well past midnight... And after that, don't turn the lights off!
A very disappointing collection of short stories, most of which do not even qualify as suspense. Some of them are from the Raj-era with its usual strain of eye-rolling mysticism. A couple appear to be extracts from novels and really make no sense by themselves. I would also have appreciated an introduction to the authors for each story, helping you see the stories as an introduction to a writer's larger body of work.
An anthology of queer stories which if it has occurred anywhere would have been a very unpleasant experience. All collected Stories are a good read and can be completed within a day or two. The stories are written in older English style but makes for a pleasant reading. Rupa publication have used Ruskin Bond's literary experience and got a good collection of stories in various categories, each being better and enjoyable to read.
Mildly amusing. Can't really call this as Suspense stories. Just collection of some queer imaginative write ups. I think this would be good for school children.
