Ludec: The Battle of Hastings 1067

Rate this book
"I can recommend Ludec as an excellent read for those who love history but are daunted by the length of many historical works.

It sets the progress of its hero, Ludec and his feisty lady, Astrid against the events before, during and subsequent to the Battle of Hastings. The intriguing question is posed "What would have happened if William of Normandy had been vanquished and Harold had triumphed?" One speculates whether the Saxon kings would have continued for centuries or whether another invader would have swiftly arrived to change the pattern of history. The author stimulates these questions in the reader through the events that unfold.

This novel addresses one of the "What ifs?" of history with conviction and is a recommended read!"

THE BATTLE OF HASTINGS 1066

Possibly the most seminal date scorched upon Britain's historical calendar. Everyone knows what happened next. but what if Harold had not rushed hot-headed into battle on that fateful day? A change of plan, a mere hesitation, could have radically reshaped an entire nation - and the world.

Stephen Atkinson's re-imagined future fearlessly entwines science, magic and mayhem in a rich tapestry of colossal, sometimes even comical, consequences.
