This counting book, which accompanies the author's alphabet book, E is for Empire, introduces children to more sites and historical facts about New York State. After going through numbers 1 through 12, she then starts counting by 10s from 20 to 100. While the title of the book mentions Times Square, there was nothing in the book about it. There were other odd omissions. For example, the number 40 talks about baseball, and yet the side note fails to mention the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Still, I actually learned something I didn't know about my home state from this book, so I enjoyed it. Recommended especially for kids who live in NYS.
