Sheila, Hank, and the others have been magically transported to Waterdeep! But who is this luminescent girl who apparently summoned them? And what marvels and monsters does the so-called City of Splendors hide? Grab your cereal bowl and adjust those rabbit ears as writer David M. Booher (Canto) and George Kambadais (John Carter of Mars; Dark The Deadly Green) continue their groundbreaking Dungeons & Dragons ride!
Why is this guy over here so terrible at doing magic? Yeah, I know he is a kid and all that, but everyone else seems to be pretty skilled in their class, so why isn't this guy as good as they are? You can't just go around throwing gelatinous cubes all the time, you gotta get your shit together, man! Also, this comic ends with one character saying "This looks like a dungeon.... but then.... where is the dragon?", which made me groan in disgust. I know this franchise is called Dungeons & Dragons, but come on, surely you could've come up with something better than that! Give me a break........... but no, seriously, where is the dragon?

It’s an interesting new take on the old TV cartoon as they go deeper into the canonical D&D lore. It used to feel like a show inspired by the D&D franchise, now it feels like a story set well within that universe and I love it. This book had a lot of the classic bickering and shenanegins. Fans of the cartoon will love it. It makes me want to see if that old show is streaming anywhere.
A little further in the story, this one is starting to get pretty fun. I'm a fan! The dynamics between characters feel a little rushed, but being this is a 4 issue miniseries I'm not surprised, I think they'd have benefited from having a 6 or 8 issue run to play around with.
