It had come to the point in the pandemic where most of California had been shut down. Many people found themselves without employment, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. Lydia Cunningham was no exception. She was an art gallery curator in San Francisco when the lockdown began. She struggled to work from home, but the gallery was just not making a profit, leading Lydia to join many others who had become unemployed. She was alone, no family and no friends, no one to help her or for her to turn to. She was about to hit rock bottom when only hours before she had to be out of her apartment, a knock at her front door would change her life forever. In a matter of minutes, the twenty-six-year-old woman found herself to be an heiress of an estate that was worth millions of dollars. A great aunt that she never knew of had left her the entire Murdoch family fortune which included a neglected mansion in Salem, Massachusetts. In a matter of days, she went from penniless to being a millionaire; from being homeless to being the sole owner of a mansion that was over three hundred years old. Before long, the boring mundane life that she had lived in San Francisco would turn into a roller coaster of events and emotions. She would be followed by the spirits of her ancestor who needed her help to break a centuries old curse that held them captive between heaven and hell.
