It had come to the point in the pandemic where most of California had been shut down. Many people found themselves without employment, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. Lydia Cunningham was no exception. She was an art gallery curator in San Francisco when the lockdown began. She struggled to work from home, but the gallery was just not making a profit, leading Lydia to join many others who had become unemployed. She was alone, no family and no friends, no one to help her or for her to turn to.
