"His Cinderella Mistress" is the story of January and Max.
I decided to read this because I really enjoyed book two, and wanted to know what was up with the youngest Calendar sister.
The plot involves our hero, a successful lawyer travelling to acquire a land for his friend and boss. He plans to speak to the Calendar sisters and coerce them to abandon their ancestral property so a resort can be built on it. What he does not expect is to meet the heroine, and be completely smitten by her. He begins a pursuit, and she reciprocates, only for them to realize each other's identity. The heroine begins fighting him off, he tries to resist her but fails, some mild drama ensues and it ends in a HEA.
Contrary to the title, there is no "mistress" drama involved in this book. Instead, it's a sweet love story with a temperamental heroine, a devoted but haughty hero and likable siblings. A random stalker plot mixed in the middle, but it's all good at the end.

I can't believe it. 
Putting aside that I clearly hate this book and the characters, there's also another thing that bothers me: why the heck the name of the female protagonist is changed in the version of my book?! I read here on GR that her name is January so why the heck she's Jennifer in the Italian version of the book?! Sometimes I hate how books are translated (badly), and not having an original (english) copy of the book is annoying.
Are all the books of this author like this? *looks at the previous book just rated*
(Looking at my book list, I should take in consideration to add a new tag in my bookshelf, the "trash" tag. That so, I can add all the "1" stars books I have rated so far, meaning a lot).

What's with these totally inappropriate titles ?!? She is neither a Cinderella nor his mistress ! They don't get to DO IT at all, only in bits and pieces. And she has the most protective and adoring sisters.
And the excessive calendar names of all female characters was rather annoying.
But otherwise the story is good. 3 sisters own a farm in the midst of hot real estate. The hero is a lawyer trying to persuade them to sell their land to some big construction company.
But even before he meets the sisters on business, he spots the youngest one in a hotel. She is a singer there. And he pursues her relentlessly. She fancies him too, but soon gets to know he is the guy trying to get their land.
The guy is thinking twice about the deal because he wants the girl more desperately than the deal. The girl hates him and still finds herself in his arms too often !!
The elder sisters are the voices of reason. They finally decide it's ok to let go of the land. All conflicts resolved.
In the midst of all this, there is a crazy stalker in town harming women at random. So the sub plot of the stalker fills a few more pages.

I liked the story and the characters and the mystery too but..............I don't think it should have been in the "Sexy" titles, should have been a "sweet" title. There should have been more oomph with the main characters. There was implied sizzle but it didn't quite get off the page. Basically it was a sweet story but didn't leave me sighing. I will have to see how I feel with the May's and March's stories.

Max Golding has a job to do and that is to convince the Calendar sisters to sell their farm to his boss for a golf course. While at his hotel, he stops into the bar and sees the beautiful January singing at the piano at night. Drawn to her beauty and music, Max approaches her, meets her and then hangs out at the bar each night thereafter even after he discovers that she is one of the Calendar sisters. Prickly after having her heart broken, January wants nothing to do with Max, especially after she learns just who he is and what he's in town for. But there's a stalker on the loose and Max is afraid for January driving home alone late at night. As their relationship develops, will Max be able to overcome January's distrust and save her from the stalker?
This story is slow to develop and is a strange love story. However, it's a nice change of pace.

Even thought I've read all the other books in the Calendar trilogy I read this one last and I have to say that I didn't like it as the others. So, I'm kind of lucky that I didn't read this book first!! Well, it's a good book in comparison with others of CM books but I still like best the one with March.

Did not finish
I usually love Carole Mortimer books but I struggled with this one. I just couldn't get there. After 60% it wasn't getting any better. I put it down several times and hated the fact I had paid for a book I did not like.

Good characters but really long winded book. And there was zero chemistry between the hero and heroine making their romance unbelievable. Even the sub-plot of the Nightstalker couldn't make this dull story any more thrilling.
