Edward Hoagland (born December 21, 1932, in New York, New York) is an author best known for his nature and travel writing. His non-fiction has been widely praised by writers such as John Updike, who called him "the best essayist of my generation."
A few interesting essays. Fairly irreverent and critical of popular culture, politics, and our supposed learning. Some are quite dated or done for Outdoor magazine to make money and thus less than engaging. Some provide timeless insights or interesting personal stories. My favorite essays were the Thoreau, Revolutions, and Reunion.
