Fallen #1-3

The Fallen Series Trilogy

Rate this book
These are the first three books of the incredible "Fallen" series, collected together in a deluxe box set. Relive every passionate moment of Luce and Daniel's epic romance across 5,000 years of history. This bestselling gothic romance is for all adult and teenage fans of supernatural fiction. It includes Fallen, Torment and Passion. Get ready to fall...

Fallen
What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at Sword & Cross boarding school in Savannah. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are screwups, and security cameras watch every move.

Except Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce—he goes out of his way to make that very clear. But she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, Luce has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, FALLEN is a page-turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

Torment
How many lives do you need to live before you find someone worth dying for?

Hell on earth.

That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.

It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts - immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous.

What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series...where love never dies.

Passion
What if you find your soul mate . . . at the wrong time?
Luce would die for Daniel.

And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn't need to be that way....

Luce is certain that something - or someone - in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime...going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel...and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history. Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames...forever.

Sweeping across centuries, PASSION is the third novel in the unforgettably epic FALLEN series.

Fallen - 3.5 stars

I liked the first book in the series. It is a mystery of sorts as we are introduced with some characters but we don't know what to make of them. As the book progresses, we obviously get the gist of the plot but there aren't a lot of answer by the end of the first book.

Torment - 2 stars

Torment is aptly titled and my least liked of the series. I really hated the slow-plot and all the characters became stupid too.

Passion - 3 stars

Passion was not bad to read. Writing wasn't the best and it had a lot of errors but I actually enjoyed the plot involving past lives and actually travelling there. Luce was still pretty stupid. I loved Cameron in this the most even though he was barely there. I wish he were there more. I also liked Daniel's POV and started to like him again after not liking him in Torment.

Solid idea. Obnoxious execution.

The fate of the world and your very life hangs in the balance, what do you do? Obsess about which guy you like better. "The love Daniel and I share is timeless and unbreakable. But Miles is soo sweet and normal." Book 2 is Book 1, but in CA. I get she doesn't have any real way to find out about her past lives, but she only makes sporadic pushes to discover anything new. About twenty people have mentioned they read about her in history books, why does she not make an effort to find one of these history books? Instead, you get pages and pages and pages and pages of her thinking about Daniel, wondering how much she really knows about Daniel, wishing Daniel would kiss her. *gag*vomit*choke* Interspersed with her thinking about Miles.

Well i have just finished the Fourth book in this serise and thought it should really try and untangel my mixed feeling about this serise.I first read books one and two a few years ago and i remember enjoying them but had to stop reading as the next few books hadn't been published back then. Last week i went to my libary and saw all 4 of them on the selves so thought i would give them a go again as i hate not finishing a serise.

BOOK ONE: 3 stars.I rember enjoying it first time i read it a lot more, whether thats because this time i knew the ending or just because i am older.

BOOK TWO:2 stars. Was an ok book defantainly not as good as the first one.

BOOK THREE:2 stars. I read this book really fast but i cant say it was over enjoyable it seemed to be repeating the same thing over and over again i know that is the idea that was trying to get over but i feel as though it went on a bit too long.

BOOK FOUR: 2.5 stars. Finally in this book we get to know what is happening and by half away though i thought i knew how the book was going to end and i was almost right, apart from thing happened afterwards that i didnt see coming. I know the ending is ment to a happy one but i found that it was quite a sad happy ending.

Fallen (Fallen #1) - 3 Stars
17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

No matter how hard I tried to connect with Lucinda I just did not get her at all. I thought her overall character was off-putting making the story less than magical.

This series holds some nostalgia for me, which is why I kept reading it. I enjoyed the suspense of the series and I like the idea of the reincarnation mixed with a cursed true love romance. But I didn’t like the execution of the plot. Reading this as an adult, it seems like Luce and Daniel’s relationship isn’t worth the hassle. The weight of the fate of all of humanity being in the hands of two teenage star crossed lovers is a lot for two kids to handle. I’d give this a rating of 2.5-3 ⭐️.

Fallen:
To Lucinda Price, enrolling at Sword & Cross is a last resort. unable to recollect the details of a tragedy which took the life of her friend, she arrives and Sword & Cross despondent. When she sees Daniel Grigori, everything changes. Somehow, she feels a connection with him that she hasn't felt with anyone else before. He appears in her dreams, and it seems as if she knows him. But when she tries to talk to him, he shrugs her off coldly, leaving her lost and confused.

To me, a major part of the fascination and appeal of Fallen was Luce and Daniel's romance. Unlike in a lot of books, it was very complicated, but even more than that. Luce was similar to Megan in The Iron Knight; her feelings out in the open, but responded to in all coldness. Luce and Daniel are also very much opposites; while Daniel does everything because he believes he is protecting Luce, Luce will throw herself into danger to find answers. The real reason I gave Fallen 5+ Stars is because I really connected with Luce, and she unlocked a lot of emotion that is usually hidden deep inside me.

Torment:
Torment definitely wasn't as good as Fallen. It was borderline close to terrible. For some reason, it seemed as if Luce's personality took a major change; venting against Daniel was just the beginning of it. Things that she was fine with in Fallen, she was suddenly not in Torment. Her baseline personality was still there, but he personality definitely took a turn, like Cam's is rumoured to be in Unforgiven.

Daniel wasn't as present in Torment, partially due to him being away 'protecting' Luce. I love Daniel, he's always wanting to fight for what he believes in (Luce). It was almost like Lauren Kate started a love triangle in Torment, which I am very, VERY against, as fragile as Daniel and Luce's relationship is, they are destiny.

Passion:
Passion was a definite improvement from Torment; I felt that it gave readers a background that had been missing from the start. I didn't love it, but it was a good book. It was more of a journey through time than a book.

The plot didn't really progress in Passion, instead, the main focus was Luce uncovering some answers. Split between Daniel/Luce third POV, omniscient style chapters, it was a very intriguing dual POV. Passion was very different from Fallen and Torment, not to say I didn't like it; I definitely did.

Lauren Kate really set up Rapture with Passion, and she is one of the most skilled at writing endings that I have read.

I often like coming into a series when it is complete, so I can read the books back to back. I did read these (books 1-3) but then decided to take a break before continuing on. I will, I just needed something else.

I was glad to find this combo to review, because I didn't know if I really had that much to say about the books individually. Each book did have it's own definite story line. Different settings, new characters introduced (as well as original ones sticking around).

In book 1, we are introduced to the characters, Luce's history ... things aren't really explained until a little later in the book. You have your usual teenage love triangle. There was a bit of a cataclysmic ending and I wasn't sure where the story was going to go from there.

Book 2 takes Luce (and us) to another school setting. She (and the reader) learn more about the nephilim and the shadows. Another love interest (love triangle) here, abrupt ending ...

Book 3 has Luce traveling through time, peeking (and more) at her former lives. It was interesting, if a bit depressing.

There was very little light or humor in the books, I think after reading the three I just felt a little dragged down, thus my turning to something else. Even though there was just the one book left (and a novella) I'll come back and finish the series in the near future.

The Fallen Sequence: An Omnibus Edition

Lauren Kate's New York Times bestselling FALLEN novels: FALLEN, TORMENT, and PASSION, available for the first time together in an ebook omnibus edition.

The plot was good but the writing was a tad too stretched.

The way the story was written, it took too long to get to the main point of it all.

In Passion, the focus was Lucinda's journey through her past to discover who she really was. She keeps saying that she learned something from every time she visited, but it never really said what she actually learned. And you can hardly deduce it from all the details that was written.

Some of the details were actually irrelevant, and it was distracting to have to go through all of them before finding out what the author actually meant to say.

It was all in all a good enough read, but not good enough to merit more than three stars from me.

I loved the first book(Fallen)of the series. It was just amazing and I couldn't wait for the next book. Then I read the second book (Torment). It was sooooooo boring, nothing was happening and I was really not fan of the characters that were introduced in this book.I decided that I will not read the third book as I thought it would be just as bad as the second book but after reading the synopsis of the third book(Passion).I was really intrigued so I read it and it was pretty interesting and I liked it.Lastly,I read the third book(Rapture)which was just okay. But I liked the ending.

I've read it, and at first I was " hmm, am getting hook " but as I finished the first book and got hold of the second one, I kinda feel that it just goes on and on, and nothing much happens. It's like the author already explained one point, but she couldn't stop saying it over and over again... must be a lack of something to make the story a little interesting. It started out great for me, but as the series goes it kinda fall short. Just my opinion.

It's a never ending love at first sight for the two cursed lovers. A love that spans thousands of years. This line is my favorite:

“I’ll love you with all my heart, in every life, through every death. I will not be bound by anything but my love for you.”

I've read the 4th book before the Trilogy and I think that gave me better understanding of the things that are happening while reading this. The 4th book is quite an ending but a 5th book is what I really want to read.

I am entertained by the idea of being able to journey back to past lives. To being able to try and right the wrong.. to understanding why and how the present came to be.. to having the courage to risk everything and just rely on faith.. I'm not done reading the rest of the series, but I'm looking forward to knowing what becomes of Luce and Daniel, and how they will address the repercussions their choices will cause.

My Dad and I read these at the same time and we couldn't put em down! We loved talking about them. I loved the storyline and I loved the main characters. I really lived in this series like I did with Mortal Instruments & Harry Potter. But, that's how I like to read: by diving in full force. I really want to start them again for the 3rd round!

I really liked the first book. The story got a little "out there" as the series went on. It wasn't so bad that I stopped reading them though. Wasn't expecting much so I was disappointed. I'd still recommend for people to read if they have already read all my top recommendations :)

I definitely love this series, the way luce and daniel kept getting obstacles to discovered what she truly is but kept coming back to each other in the end, how you could easily imagine it and that Lueren Kate based the events on real life ones was so good. I simply loved it

I must say, this series was amazing, I didn't expect anything like what I did. Lucinda was awesome, not bad of an annoying character like some female lead characters (not rigging on any other books I still love the books) and I know they are making a movie, let us hope they don't mess it up.
