This exciting series focuses on the vitality and uniqueness of the world's greatest cities. Each volume is superbly designed and produced, yet ingeniously practical, with lavish photography, easy-to-read maps, and informed and enjoyable texts. From offbeat cafes and cutting-edge restaurants to the most stylish stores, hotels, and neighborhoods, StyleCity uncovers all the special places where both locals and discerning travelers can find a vibrant and idiosyncratic urban experience. Ravaged by history, riven in half, gateway to eastern Europe, Berlin is one of the most dynamic cities in Europe, a cultural, artistic, and creative magnet for the third millennium. Architectural iconsnew and oldentrenched bohemianism, and a flamboyant nightlife are just a few of Berlin's colorful facets. Against a rapidly changing backdrop, StyleCity Berlin spotlights the very best of the city, underground, in the open, and behind closed doors. 416 color illustrations and 5 maps.

I bought this book before I moved to Berlin a few years ago and what I like most about it is that it's a guide for the non-touristy stuff. The places inside are a great way to get to know a different side of Berlin if you're looking for something that isn't necessarily geared towards a tourist. I would definitely recommend it to someone who has just moved to Berlin or even if you've been in Berlin for awhile and want to find some other places to go to.
