This small book packs an incredibly large punch. You get a ton of details on many technical aspects of the Gundam Wing television series. Every piloted mecha from the series is featured here, with a wealth of statistics and background information. Other vehicles and hardware get a decent summary as well. Additionally, you also get the development history of the Gundams and weapons, a report on the events and key players, and detailed profiles of each of the characters.

It's not the end all resource for the Gundam Wing series, but it does give you a lot in a single book. There are some limitations. One particularly interesting one is the mecha is rated on a number system on stats like fighting level, power level, speed, etc. That's all well and good, but there is no reference point to what the numbers mean. All you can surmise from the stats is how one mecha compares with another. Being a "pocketbook" sized publication makes for very small print type. It would have been a much better choice to print a full sized manual instead (I understand that publishing costs may have been a factor, or simply fan preference). All in all this is an excellent reference guide.

Of the first three Gundam Technical Manuals, this is by far the best- not only does it include information on the mobile suits, mobile armors, and vehicles from Gundam 0083, but it also has info on 08th MS Team, Gundam 0080, and Mobile Suit Gundam as well! There's even a detailed history/timeline section following the Universal Century continuity up to the era of Zeta Gundam. Highly recommended for Gundam fans!

Not only does this excellent book give details on the mobile suits, mobile armor, vehicles, characters, and technology featured in the 08th MS Team series, it also puts all of this in the context of Mobile Suit Gundam, the series that these events take place in the midst of. A good buy for any MS Gundam fan.
