In Arthur's Tree House, Arthur is excited about his new Bionic Bunny comic book, but he can't find a quiet place to read. Dad is vacuuming the bedroom, Mom is busy in the kitchen, D.W. is practicing ballet in the living room, and Pal wants to play. The only spot Arthur finds is in a tree. This gives his dad an idea. Soon Arthur has his very own tree house, where he can go with his friends, family, or just to be alone!
Marc Tolon Brown is perhaps best known for his series of children's books about Arthur the aardvark, which was turned into an animated television show on PBS. Brown is a three-time Emmy Award winner, for his role on the television show inspired by his books.
He lives on Martha's Vineyard and in New York City with his wife, Laurie Krasny Brown. He has three children, sons Tolon and Tucker, and daughter Eliza. The names of his two sons have been hidden in all of the Arthur books except for one: Arthur's Tooth.
This is an earlier Arthur book (doesn't have baby Kate in it) Arthur wants some quiet time alone, but everywhere he seems to go there is someone making noise or needing him. He finds semi quiet outside then looks up and find that being in a tree reading a book is wonderful. His family finds him and joins him and they decide to build a tree house for him...
If I had ever seen the television show, I might have found this book more exciting. Even without, it was decent, though. So maybe I should start watching Arthur...
