This is not the kind of book one reads cover to cover. It is not a story book nor is it a text book.
It is a compilation of correspondence between some very well-known persons.
Writers. Composers. Politicians, and more.
If nothing else it pays homage to the English language.
There are long letters and short letters and one line notes.
Letters of Congratulations, letters of Apology, letters of Appreciation, letters of Love.
Sad letters, funny letters, sarcastic letters, endearing letters.
It’s not so much that I have ‘finished’ the book because it is the kind of book that I will be tempted to pick up from time to time throughout the year.

At its center, this is a reference book to give good examples on how to word or phrase something. A must have for a library shelf.
