Very useful!
Our professor recommended reading this book.
Besides the information that I learned about the ECG, this book enhanced my medical English too.
P.S. We're studying medicine in Arabic. This is Syria!
Thank you Dr.John. You've really made the ECG easy :)

an amazing book to understand the principles of ECG from the basics till diagnosis in such an easy short way

loved how it has a "things to remember" corner at the end of each section
and a whole chapter called "reminds" which summarize most of the book's information in the end, just before a very useful chapter called "Now test yourself"

it has an easy language, loooots of diagrams & ways to simplify remembering what's importent
recommended to any med student who's interested ^_^

"EKG normist kõrvalekallete äratundmine on suuresti sarnane olukorraga, kui te tunnete ära elevandi - kui olete korra näinud, siis jääb see kogu eluks meelde."

Let's agree to disagree, ütleksin ma selle peale.

I recommend that book to every medical student and anyone related to the medical field, so simple and it will be the best option if you don't know how to read and interpret the ECG.

So, I was studying for my medicine OSPE, and I needed to go through this book once again. While I was at it, I actually ended up reading all of it, lol. That's what I do when I don't have time to spare before exams, I waste my precious time until I keep regretting my existence.
But anyway, I personally loved the book. Everything was put in such simple terms, that I could understand better even while I was at it myself. There are a LOT of sample ECGs, which helped a lot to teach me to diagnose ECG reports better. I loved the easygoing yet informative writing. This is one of the very good books out there on ECG, according to me.
One thing though, I wish the sample ECGs were bigger. I have very poor eyesight, and it took a toll on my eyesight yet again. The P waves and pathological Qs were so small that it was hard to differentiate between them. And also, I wish they didn't mention the answers to the sample ECGs on the same page, an idiot student like me feels like cheating on herself, haha.
But overall, I'm thankful to this book for saving my prof OSPE (that one station). And I hope it saves me during the viva, as well 😊

It gave quick and simple advices for reading and understanding an ECG.

It was useful to read.

But there are not much examples in this book. You need to see more and more ECGs so you can understand them better.

Great book to learn about ECGs or revise interpertations of ECG. The most important lesson is an ECG without clinical context is not very useful.

ça m'a aidé à éclaircir certains points.

"The ECG Made Easy" by John R. Hampton

This book is a good introduction to ECG. It explains the inner logic of some patterns (like septal Q, bundle branch block) of ECG, but the reasons for some others like T inversion or down-sloping ST segment depression are not explained. Anyway, it seems that the reason for the latter is not needed to be known by non-specialists. Thus, you have to memorize some things without knowing their why.

The examples and exercises are provided in two other books by the same author: The ECG In Practice and 150 ECG Problems. In order to be an expert in interpreting the ECG, you'll need to read these two books too.

Great introductory book suitable for whoever doesn’t know anything about reading and interpreting ECGs and has an interest in learning to do so. Well written, easy to follow, and I especially enjoyed the practice cases included in the last chapter.

I read this book a long time ago when I was still in medical school in 2005-2010 (so most likely its older version). I recently re-read its 10th edition. Definitely a must-read textbook for medical students, junior physicians, or medical doctors.

One of the best books for any medical student on the topic of ECG.
This is the second time I read it, worth every minute reading it.
