This is a great book to help understand copyright. I like the specific situations they give in the text. My only problem is that this edition was published in 2004 or something, its the latest edition that I've seen, and I can't help but wonder....is it all still up-to-date? Wish they'd release an updated one. Also, what's up with the grumpy librarian? Too true to life! :) (Some of us ARE grumpy).

It’s dated, but still a good overview/introduction, with a balanced approach to copyright. I realize it’s been almost 20 years but I wish there were either a new edition or the promised website for updates available. (I haven’t spent any time trying to figure out how long they maintained it.)

Surprisingly useful guide to copyright. It's a wire-bound over-sized guide with illustrated sample cases for academics that make it seem too simple, but it has become the guide I go to for quick answers. Interpretations are in plain English with relevant examples and pointers to the real resources. Would I rely on this for an understanding of copyright? No. Do I use this to find out what the TEACH act covers or a 30-second explanation of Fair Use? Yes.
