Future maid of honor Angie is visiting her BFF Becca for her engagement party, when her attraction to the future best man, Jared, leads her to spend the week at their nearly-empty BDSM-themed ranch, learning about a different kind of sexuality (and a different side of herself).

Putting aside Angie's sudden decision to spend a week with a near-stranger at a sex resort (admittedly one co-owned by her BFF's fiancé), the book is quite good. The sex is smoking hot, and the relationship between the two is interesting. The writing could flow better, but overall it's a good book.

I gave book #1 4-stars, thus I'm giving this one 4-stars as well. The stories are almost identical due to set-up, location, timing, and pages. Since I read them back-to-back, this became a negative. However, if you read them separately, this one is just as good as the other.

This was a very good story. I liked Jared and Angie and enjoyed their story. FYI...this story is solidly in the BDSM territory (compared to the first book of the series) as Jared is a Dom.

Angie is a good woman and an accountant. She was abandoned as a child and spent years in foster homes with people that didn't care and left her life as soon as she wasn't convenient any more. Men in Angie's life haven't been that great either and tend to just add to her abandonment issues left over from her childhood.

Jared is a sexual therapist and co-owner of a dude ranch that specializes in helping couples discover their sexuality. Jared is a Dom and hasn't had much luck with women in his life accepting that bout him. The women he's been with in past relationships have shown him that they couldn't handle his lifestyle and now he visits a BDSM club for release but hasn't tried to start any new relationships.

Angie is the best friend of Becca, the heroine from book #1 Roped And Ready. She's been visiting the ranch on weekends to help plan Becca's wedding to Tyler (who is Jared's business partner). When the story begins, Becca and Tyler's wedding has just finished and they're off on their honeymoon. Angie is planning to leave the ranch and go back to her life but she's very attracted to Jared and decides to see if she can seduce him for the night. That doesn't end up happening but Jared offers her a 2 week stay with him at the ranch during which he'll show her all the pleasures. The ranch is actually closed for the next 2 weeks due to renovations being done. Construction personnel are going to be on the ranch and Jared has some stuff to do but he has plenty of free time to spend with Angie and explore her submissive streak. Up to this point, Angie has always been the dominant one (due to her past lovers being lame) but what she really wants is to have someone take control. Jared realizes this and gives her what she needs if not exactly what she wants (or thought she wanted).

Angie and Jared are both strongly attracted to each other but are unsure about anything past the 2 weeks. Jared is convinced that Angie wont be able to accept his sexual demands for longer than a couple weeks. Angie on the other hand, wishes for something more but is afraid to mention it or even hope for it because Jared probably doesn't want it (fears left over from previous men that abandoned her). Regardless of their fears, they both go in to the 2 weeks wanting to get all they can out of it. They start out slow and gradually try more and more things the longer they're together. Jared is happy that Angie seems pleased with their "play" but still worries that something they do will push her away. Angie is just wondering how she'll ever be with another man again because Jared is ruining her for anyone else. They explore much together and Jared even takes Angie to a BDSM club and gets his friend Gabe (the owner of the club) to help give Angie a menage experience (which she enjoys very much). As their 2 weeks come to an end, Angie reaches out to Jared (emotionally) but he doesn't react well and things don't look good for the couple. Thankfully, Jared grows a pair and goes after Angie. They admit their feelings and start their HEA.

This was a very good story. I liked both Jared and Angie and their story sexy (with a little sweet) and was interesting enough that it kept me reading through the end. I'll probably try more of this series if additional book are released. I'd recommend this book. Thumbs up. :)

This was a great story Angie Davidson went to her best friend Becca's wedding at the Quick Silver Ranch and was instantly attracted to co-owner and best man Jared. As the newly weds headed off on there honeymoon Jared offers her a chance to stay and explore her sexuality. Jared is a Dom and he knows that Angie is a submissive and he is just the man to help her explore her submissive side. The character were very likeable both of them had mistrust issues when it comes to the heart. Angie who grew up in foster care had abandonment issues she was tried of getting close to people who leave her. Jared wanted a woman who wouldn't rejected his dominant streak and Angie was just that women. This book was like the first very well written and the sex scenes were hot. This book can also be read without reading the first one. I would love to visit this ranch Jared was the perfect Dom he was not overly harsh or disrespectful or cruel and he was perfect for Angie. I wished it was longer I enjoyed this one.

I loved this book. I'm not into many dominant and bdsm books, and I seldomly will read them, but this is one that I would recommend and will leave its mark in my mind. The introduction to the two characters was wonderful and did not feel rushed. you learned of their history, while brief. And even with their own issues internally, you could see that they cared about one another from the beginning. When they were together, the two of them were the only thing that mattered besides maximum pleasure. The story was somewhat short, but I didn't feel like anything was rushed or left out. Writing was truly great.

'Roped and Ready' certainly whetted my appetite for more from Quicksilver Ranch and 'Saddle Up' didn't disappoint. It was easy to connect with Angie and Jared - and I loved how he encouraged her to describe how she felt during their 'sessions'! The bdsm element added a nice edge to the story.

Angie is dissatisfied with her job and life. When she goes to her best friend's new place to help plan the wedding and the wedding itself, she notices Jared. When the wedding is over, Jared and Angie get together. Angie is a true submissive to Jared's Dom. As they play, they fall for each other. Both have been let down by previous partners so when Angie tells Jared she loves him, he walks away. Angie leaves but is determined to go back for her man. Before she can, Jared comes to her and asks her to be his sub and wife. She of course agrees.

Holy Sexual Frustration, Batman!! My God, I was dying for poor Angie! lmao dude was teasing the crap our of her and bringing her to the brink day after day, she was quite a trooper!
I didn't read the first one, I don't know if I would have gotten a little more about both Angie and Jared in that one or not, I kinda wish there had been some scenes without any sex or cuddling, more...just regular stuff only because of the proposal, otherwise maybe not have the proposal? Just because when it happened I was like 0.O

This book is the second in the series, and while the relationship between Jared and Angie stands well within the confines of this book, I did feel like I was missing a little bit of context by not having read about the previous pair. I loved seeing Angie embrace her submissive side, but I would have liked to witness more of the changes in Jared’s attitude. I adored the ending, I just felt like it came up a bit too quickly. However, if you’re looking for lots of steamy encounters, this is the book for you.

Great story with well developed characters and a HEA.

Angie Davidson is a CPA from San Francisco at the ranch for her best friend Becca's wedding. She is looking for a man to take control. Jared Turner owns the Quick Silver Ranch, an adult sex ranch, and is a Dominant. The ranch is closed for two weeks for renovation and he proposed Angie stay with him for that time and he will rock her world. A very sexy read! Both Jared and Angie are very likeable characters and you can’t helping cheering fo them to hash it out so that they can continue on to their HEA. There is so much chemistry between them, not to mention stamina (sigh) for the book to have many steamy scenes hot enough to melt off your panties! A very enjoyable read!

Ride a cowboy!
This story is a 2-week long western themed erotic adventure for Jarod and Angie that ends the happiest of ever afters. Their time together was so intense and darn hot. Hopefully there’s more tales of Quick Silver Ranch!

What a Wild Ride!

Angie has always been in control of her life including her sex life. She doesn’t want to have that control. She wants a man to take control and please her in so many ways. She also wants a man to stay with her. She has been abandoned so many times starting with her parents and foster homes. Also boyfriends never stayed around. She struggles with those feelings but knows she wants to explore with Jared.

Jared on the other hand has never met anyone that could love him for who he was. He was a dominant and he liked being in control of the women in his life. He hasn’t met that right woman for him, until Angie comes to the ranch and seems that she wants what he has to offer. So they have 2 weeks to explore their desires. He isn’t going to get involved or emotional. This is just time for them to play and enjoy each other.

The title of this book is very appropriate because once Jared says it the play time is to begin. Angie has agreed to it and does everything Jared asks of her and more. He loves how she welcomes all the new experiences he is giving her. When the end of their time is near Angie realizes she is falling for him hard. She tells him she loves him and he walks away from her. Jared is so stunned he doesn’t know what to say. Angie leaves and after she is down the road she pulls over and cries. She goes back to work and decides she is going to go fight for her man. She will not let him off the hook so easily.

This story was exciting and very suspenseful. I never knew what Jared was planning for Angie each day and I liked being surprised by him. He owns the Quick Silver Ranch to help couples with their sexual fantasies and he knows how to play Angie’s body like a pro. I loved Angie being so strong to let Jared take control of her body. She was nervous and maybe a little shy in the beginning but she knew Jared would protect her. She could trust him completely. Jared loved that about her. He had never been happier than when he was with Angie.

Review by Sarah L: After reading book one of the Quick Silver Ranch series I was very excited to learn that book two was Jared's story and even more excited to hear it was actually about Jared and Angie. It is not necessary to read book one as the author does a good job of making this book stand on its own. However, since we do meet Jared, we learn about some of Angie's background and just because it's good, I recommend it!

Both characters have vulnerabilities which the author describes very well and the emotions they are feeling because of these vulnerabilities are very evident throughout. Angie is afraid of being abandoned and Jared is worried about getting close to avoid getting hurt since every woman in his past has walked away from him as well.

I enjoyed the interaction between both Jared and Angie while working side by side and would have liked to have seen more of this side of their relationship. I realize the dom/sub portrayal was important since this was a main component of Jared's character however it seemed to become a bit repetitive.

This was a good, enjoyable erotica novel. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Saddle Up is book 2 in the series, but can be read as a stand alone if you don't mind missing some little details. I have not read book 1, but I had no problem following along. I do however wish I would have met these characters while they were first seeing each other.

I would have liked more background information on Jared to help understand why he is the way he is. I like Angie and her openness to try anything and trust.

The 3 star rating is because of the sex. It all seems very clinical and without emotion on Jared's part until the last few pages. The HEA came too quickly for me as well with lack of relationship development.

If you like a book about a woman exploring her "submissive" side and a "Dom" pushing her to try new things, then this is a good option!

An Awesome Read!

I enjoyed reading Quick Silver Ranch: Saddle Up, all about Jared Turner the part owner of Quick Silver Ranch & Angie Davidson the BFF of Becca the Event Planner & wife of Tyler the other partner of the ranch. Angie came to the ranch to be Maid of Honor in Becca's wedding, and to spend two weeks on the ranch helping Jared while the other couple was on their honeymoon. The ranch was closed to guests for ranch up-keep, an building expansion and time off for all employee's. The author wrote an incredible and interesting story series and the characters made the whole series come to life. Jared & Angie hit it off and spend a fun filled two weeks together. It's way more intense then Angie ever thought, but she couldn't get enough! Read this series and get hot, steamy & cum up a storm! See if you can also fall in love with Quick Silver Ranch, as I have!

Saddle up. I must admit that this book was not what I was expecting, but I still enjoyed the book. It gave me an insight into the world of BDSM. The world of BDSM in this book was interesting and intense but exclusive to couples. Jared takes Angie into his world after meeting her at Tyler and Becca's wedding at the Quicksilver Ranch which he is co-owner. Angie stays at the ranch two weeks longer and encounters a wonderful world she didn't know could be so much fun and exciting. But near the end of her vacation she isn't sure whether to leave or stay because she has fallen in love with Jared but doesn't know if he feels the same way about her. Angie is envious of her best friend Becca for finding her soul mate. This is what she is thinking when Jared comes to get her for their dance at their friends' wedding. She has flirted with him before but the sparks ignite during the dance. This starts a two week lesson in submission for Angie and gives Jared two weeks of total control. Their play phase is "Saddle Up". And oh my, they do, in more ways than one!

Again, Marie Tuhart has mastered the subject of M/s relationships and pulls you in and makes you feel eveything.

I highly recommend this very well written sensual exploration into "the lifestyle".

It is a well written book and the story is great. I encourage everyone to get a copy. Yes, it has Kink in it so if your not into kink this book is not for you. It was a quick easy read. I enjoyed the book and the series. Worth your time and effort. Marie Tuhart has become an author I can trust to give me a good well written story. She is fast becoming a favorite author of mine.
