PRAISE FOR THE ORIGINAL NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE
"Prophecy seems more relevant than ever now [...] A tough manga to put down, and it doesn'’t let up until the case is fully closed." — Otaku USA
"It’s the old vigilante conundrum brought into a very present day, and Prophecy really is hard to put down. […] It feels like a timely book, but more than that it’s a good one and one that keeps you thinking throughout." — Anime News Network
"Prophecy is a mature, chilling, and realistic series […] One of the strongest series to debut this year.— Manga Bookshelf
🧠 My thoughts The story was intriguing and thrilling, I kept guessing until the end. However, although the ending was hard to guess it didn't hit me as hard as I thought it would. The manga started very promising but it lacked a punch at the end. I still enjoyed it quite a lot though, it was mysterious and the "scheme" was pretty smart.
👍 What I like - Thrilling and intriguing plot - The artwork was nice
"The moment when you believe with absolute conviction that something will benefit someone, it's possible to carry out action that transcend personal gain."
Halfway to the end there was a hint about why it's called Prophechy but until the end I could even guess what the event was.
In the end I almost cried my eyes off because it was so.....bleak.
"And I found I had no choice but to pray.....*spoiler*...."
Excellent story, pacing, and artwork! One of the best "single-volume" (though it's an omnibus) manga I have ever read. Both sides of the "conflict" are equally compelling, and I really was torn between who to root for throughout the story. Very satisfying conclusion as well, with no lingering plot holes.
Last book of the year and it ends on a good note. Great manga with a strong story! Different from the majority of manga I usually read, but I like it for it. The themes in it are also actual (capitalism, corruption, justice, etc.). I would recommend it, even if you’re not a typical manga reader.
Gets a little lost in its own details, and there's some annoying preachy old man politics, but the ending is genuinely great. Doesn't really justify reading this whole thing, but it's a testament to finishing a book even if you're on the fence about it
