2.5 stars.

This was a really quick read. I liked it but it was so super short, you really couldn't connect to the characters. We barely get to see Caitlyn from the other books so we didn't know much about her, beyond she was the roommate of the traitor to the Dragonstar clan.

Entertaining enough but just not long enough.

This was a great little read. It tells the story of Caitlyn, Dyan's Sentry best friend and roommate to the traitor who infected and caused the death of so many of the Dragonstar Clan.
The book starts with Caitlyn jogging through the desert on her way to Dyln's cave, beating herself up over not seeing what her former friend and roommate was doing. She believed if she had been better at her job as Sentry, she would have caught on and would have been able to save so many lives. Caitlyn felt that she let her clan and King down. While jogging she notices a movement in one of the abandoned caves. She goes to investigate and finds her old lover and the man who broke her heart 60 years earlier, Matthew. The only problem was that Matthew was human and should have been a 95 yr old man, however the man standing in front of her looked exactly the same way when he walked out on her 60 years earlier.

Matthew was cursed by an old Indian shaman for bringing destruction to their tribe over a hundred years earlier. He was walking through he desert looking for a way to break the curse so he could finally get some peace. He had learned that Caitlyn was a dragon and that her clan lived in that area of the desert. While Caitlyn was very angry for the way he treated her years ago, she offered the clan's help in trying to break the curse, even after she saw the tattoo on his arm and knew that he was her mate.

Their story was a quick read, but still quite good. Matthew's character was very secretive, but upon learning his back story, you understood why. I also appreciated that there was very little sex in this story, especially after the excess in Hidden Ember. It was a sweet story that added another interesting person to the cast of characters in the series. I know that Logan's story is the last so far, but really hope that there will be more books in the future. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Eternal Embers tells the story of Caitlyn, one of Dylan's sentries. She's berating herself for not noticing the spy, her best friend and roommate, in their clan who caused so many deaths. She's convinced that Dylan is going to fire her or worse. While on her jog, she runs into a man she fell in love with over 60 years ago, but, somehow, he doesn't look a day older than the day he disappeared from her life. How can that be when she knows he's human?

This was a sweet little novella in the Dragon's Heat series.

I hope there will be more to come in this series. Tessa (AKA: Tracy Wolff and Tracy Deebs) does a wonderful job of blending fierce battles and hot, dragon sex with touching stories of love and survival.

A steamy tale in the Dragon Heat's series by Tessa Adams.

As one of the few female sentries to the Dragonstar king, Caitlyn Jacoby constantly struggles to prove herself—especially after her best friend and roommate turned traitor, resulting in the deaths of countless clan members. So when she perceives on the fringes of Dragonstar territory a potential threat from the Wyvermoons, an enemy clan, Caitlyn jumps at the chance to investigate. Instead of danger, Caitlyn finds Jackson Utah. Cursed with immortality by a Native American tribe over a century ago, Jackson has been searching relentlessly for a cure ever since. But as he meets and falls for Caitlyn, a dragon with centuries ahead of her, he wonders if eternal life is truly a blessing.

A short special story from the Dragon’s Heat series. Know it’s short, bit still it ended too abruptly.

After the recent Wyvernmoon attack, the Dragonstar council is desperate to find a way to protect their clan. They’ve found the traitor and are close to finding a cure for the disease that’s been killing them.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn wants to find out who the mysterious man is from her past that’s shown up again.

Fave scene: Caitlyn’s conversation on the walk back to the caves with Dylan.

Caitlyn is kicking herself for failing to see the traitor in her midst and finds Matthew a human from her past wandering in her territory. Matthew left Catlyn sixty years ago but hasn't aged. He's cursed and Catlyn is willing to lose him to lift the curse. It felt like we were just getting started when it ends. :(

This was a fun one to read. I really liked how Caitlyn was taken aback by Dylan's offer and finding a lost love. I was surprised that Caitlyn was willing to sacrifice all to give him what he wanted most. Good thing it didn't work out that way.

Nice enough little story. But so not worth the $2.99 it cost! This took me only 25 minutes to read- NOT a good value for my money.

Entertaining 🎭 a little too hard on herself but who isn’t? 🤔
