Something very strange is happening to Eric. He's been feeling itchy for days, like his skin doesn't fit him anymore. Under the light of the full moon, he takes off out of the city and finds himself on a farm, feeling more strange and confused than ever.
Jude is the son of a werewolf, and when he meets Eric, he knows exactly what the man is. Can Jude convince Eric that he isn't going crazy, and that everything is going to be just fine, even with the worst of the unexpected going on?
Heat in real life is the bane of Vic’s life, whose favorite season is winter, and Vic’s life is far more mundane than fiction. And when it comes to fiction, the hotter the better is Vic’s motto. Make it romantic, make it sexy, make it erotic, but definitely make it hot.
What a perfect little story! Much too short, if anything. It's always the same when I get to read about great characters like this - I want MORE!
Eric is too funny as he goes through all the itching and scratching, his confusion pretty much pours off the page. Even though turning into a wolf isn't realistic in the least, if it were, this would be exactly what it feels like, I imagine. Really well done!
Jude is a very cool guy. He's not holding anything back, and the way he takes Eric in and protects him is just too cute. Of course, the very hot sex they end up having doesn't hurt any, but it's the developing feelings between the men that made this story so enjoyable for me.
If you like werewolves with a sense of humor and enjoy interesting characters, you will probably like this story.
The pleasure for me in this short werewolf story was in Eric’s reactions to the changes happening to him without his understanding. Yes, he’s slightly freaked out and confused, he doesn’t understand what’s going on really but he’s not totally scared out of his wits and some part of him seems to accept it. He realizes he suddenly has paws rather than hands and feet but it’s more of “that’s weird, but I need to get help”, the reality doesn’t quite hit home.
He’s also quite self-aware. He knows he’s a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy and when he hooks up with Jude he senses some deeper pull, but chooses to just shove it aside. His voice is very appealing and in some way his whole demeanour of just not really facing up to really is happening could come off as rather annoying, but I found it probably realistic as sometimes you just don’t want to think about something, perhaps in the hopes it will just go away.
So while this is not a stunning change from the were mythology and stories of a man bitten without his knowledge, and the uncertainty of what’s happening to him, I found both Jude and Eric were nice young men who I enjoyed reading about. The last line by Jude when he realizes he not only got himself a lover but a werewolf kind of sums up the changes in the young mens’ lives as they roll with the punches:
How unexpected and awesome was that?
When you are in the mood for a quick light read it’s a perfect choice for your lunch break or in between something angstier or darker.
Good, but extremely short m/m paranormal romance about a guy who gets really itchy and turns into a werewolf, with no clue what was happening. This really needed at least a few more pages to feel complete.
A snapshot that I found to be believable, but I tend to like longer stories and would have loved to read more. I enoyed the story enough that I was looking for more when it finished.
